Many thanks for the returns guys and gals. Gypsy, you remembered! Rolfy, you weren't to know about the apricot parfaits, thanks for the cake.

Hunter did spoil me rotton, he flew on the test flight of XL577, 7 years in the refurbishing, down to meccano set pieces and back together again, first flight since 3 March 1981, yes 23.5 years! It was great. The whole of Delta and the BBC cameraman sang happy birthday to me in the howling wind on the ops apron, then some delightful person (not Hunter) poured champagne over my head.

Also we were having an indian meal flown in, in a JP with a vampire chasing for the BBC to film it. Slight hitch with that one as it was supposed to be here at 1pm and we eventually got it at 6:30. Starving, or what?

Absolutely great day. Sitting here now with a cup of lemon tea and a large wedge of lardie cake. What better birthday could a girl want?
