GPS SAT NAV

Well how about a new Forum as " GPS SAT NAV " , these things are becoming more and more popular but is still early days for GPS on motorcycles, I've searched and searched the net for - info, parts, brackets, power plugs, mounts, what's the best GPS unit and so-on. I see BIF and or FAT BERT have " Current projects include eMap and the Garmin V", and a quite a lot of other people have posted snippets hear and there. It would be easier to find if it was all under one forum title. Here's some info I have gained so far.

After Nutter bought a Garmin V I just HAD to get the same or else take hours of humiliating ' my one is better than your one ' stuff ! :}
So both he and I run the V now ( I used to have the III )
Although it is a good idea to start a whole new forum for GPS stuff, it is often of general interest to those with or without the equipement.. So unless we get more posts about GPS systems than anything else, for the time being I reckon we should have it all on here.
To be honest I can't see as there is that much to talk about with them ..
I mean, you start off wanting to know whats what and ask all the normal questions ( quite rightly ) you then spend a while either devising your own bracketry or buying a standard item..
Then plug the thing in and use it..
Maybe because I am a bit of a technofreak and have played around with radio, radar, gps, sat comms and all that kinda thing for donkeys years I am a bit blase to it all, but bottom line is that once you have one and it is fitted, thats about it really ! :-:

what about a more general section then thats called addons..or something?

for anything that adds on (lol) ie..gps, intercoms, luggage, speed camera stuff(just got a geodesy myself) luggage, alarms, stick on ears(for the northern lot) etc etc?
ill be posting pics soon of garmin street pilot mounted and geodessy with radar jammer fittted
