well done and stay safe in London. I'm in London too BTW, and use my bike virtually every day, you'll find that for such a large bike she is alright to commute with in London - she will never equals a supermoto but she is easier in town than you'd first think :beer:

Hiya Sarge,

Welcome. I've only been on here about a month myself, and have gotten plenty of good advice from the people here.

Like yourself I've just got a new BB, Silver ( but don't hold that against me ) :}

Thanks to you all for the lovely welcome..

I'm based in Eltham - which is just by Greenwich for those out of towners...

I commute every day in to the smoke, so after my first week (after commuting on a Triumph Sprint previously) I can confirm that my wrists need to get stronger as I'm having to support more of my weight on the bars, but the ride is completely different class from the Sprint.

XX is beautifully crafted, and glides accross these crap roads, where the Sprint used to follow the grooves.....

All I want to do now is open her up, how long should one run-in an XX and what revs are the limit.....

Had my Matt since March, lots of different views on running in, but I just followed the Guidelines in the book and from my dealer. Easy for the first 600 or so, not that you need to redline the Bird to get a shift on. Had no probs at all with mine, bit of wrist ache at slow speed but thats just me adjusting to the riding position, gonna try and raise the bars a tad, see if that helps. w;;v
Forgot to add I think it was keep her under 6000 revs for the first 600, its in the handbook.

Keeping under 6k is pretty easy, though I do like to open up to 8-10 occasionally just to get away from them bloody scooters !
