Welllll, after putting up with a picture that looks like a pair of theatre curtains for 7 months and doing some hard saving we finally went mad and splashed out on the new telly.
Decided agin plasma in the end.. went for the new kid on the block, DLP.

Got me a 44" LG thingy coming from Currys :p

Here are the details

Drove all round Norfolk and places near, only to end up back in Thetford and doing a deal with the local manager of Currys !

Tis niether Simon :p
Its the new DLP system (Digital Light Processing Technology )

Looks like a plasma in that it is pin sharp and can be veiwed the same as a 'normal, crt, type telly ( from any angle without brightness degradation ) , but does not suffer picture lag like the LCD ones do.

LOL !! Nah mate.. dont forget that at 44" this is our LITTLE telly :p

The biggy is set up in the conservatory.. That is 100"x74" with a few hundred watt sound system :p

But actually I reckon if the lamp lasts 20,000 hours I would be very lucky .
As there is only me and Mo and she uses the portable ( LOL ! ) 32" most of the time, the 44" one is likely to get no more than say 3 to 4 hours use max per day. Even at 5 hours per day that is still ten years.. By that time there will be something new ( maybe hologram technology at last ? )

If you have problems finding somewhere to put it don't worry, when we meet up I can do the job for you - you'll just need to touch your toes for a moment though
