baring in mind I am suffering the mutha of all hangovers as our new year celebs carry on new years day and errmm some of the night as well.. so be gentle....

me and my mate were waffling on about quest and something he said got me thinking.. as the maps are getting bigger in memory size as they are upgraded.. couldnt an external hard drive be plugged in in some way.. Im thinking along the lines of the new fangled ipod thingies.. xd/sd cards etc if you get my drift .. probably talking a load of pish here but as they use a common lead connection to plug into the puter I wondered if it mite be possible in some way with the new stuff thats out there ???

I can always blame the beer :p h1d1ng2

Not on the Quest 1... I dont know about the quest 2...:dunno:

With the Quest 1, all you do is load the maps you need for where you're going...

Mine will give me the whole of the UK (less Ireland) and works with no worries...

When we go over to germany or any other European country, I just unload the UK & load in the countries I need for that trip.

I have had France, Holland, Belgium & Germany all in at one go...

So, no real hassles there...

So, don't worry Oldbull, I dont reckon you will run out of memory as long as you use it correctly.

Happy new year,

Rolfy

Thanks for the reply Rolfy and a happy new year to you as well mate..

I have the quest1 already and I rate it highly.. its just that when we went to France last year I couldnt get the whole map on with the map of London area as well.. wanted to visit a mate while we were passing..
we went totally unplanned so wasnt sure which parts of French map to install..

was just wondering with the new puter trickery if it was possible ... mite be usefull if ever it was needed.. possible cheap upgrade :dunno:

headaches easing a tad now :p
