Same here....my Dad dropped dead with a heart attack at 54...worked himself to death. His Dad.....smoked all his life.....died at 88 of natural causes, no ill-effects of the smoking found at his autopsy.

So...does smoking kill ????

My dad died of cancer, which started in his thigh and metastasized to his lungs, 3 weeks before his 64th birthday and never smoked in his life!

Had cancer at 29, got it out of the way early.

Useless statistic or not, 1 in 3 people will have a cancer at some time in their life. If it don't look or feel right, it probably isn't - get it checked out. Made too many good friends on the wards only to lose them after a few months. I don't know many people personally on here but I would hate to lose any (well most) of you.

Friend of mine is on that slippery slope now. Lost half his body weight. They are having to feed him through a drip coz they've lasered the inside of his Oesophagus and he can't swallow. Dozy district nurse had set it up wrong at first, for 2 days he was getting nothing through the drip, no nourishment, no liquids and no pain killing drugs

At the end of his last batch of chemo the doctors told him he was all clear...then it came back.
