Aside from the banter and occasional good humour on here, how much help and advicemuch has this and other forums given people?

Certainly on here it's helped no end and also a couple of the car and caravan ones me and Mrs F are on have provided a wealth of information.

Our latest bit is that the RAC only recover trailers and caravans up to 7 metres long....as ours is 8m long,I've added another breakdown policy through the Caravan Club. This would have saved a potentially expensive recovery bill should we have needed it

Along with the loom fix, 42psi and semi-synth advice, I’ve realised there are still about 3 posters on here who actually own a Blackbird and sometimes talk about riding them.

If I were fitterer & not so knackered I’d still have my bird, it wouldn’t be shut away in my garage it would have been ridden throughout winter

Not quite got there yet, the sun has to be out a bit more for the BIRD to come out, though the Crosstourer has made an appearence.
Good man.

Snow, ice and frost is all that stopped me commuting on mine.

Rain? PAH!

I didn't know you did ice speedway....
On my vt500 I got to the bottom of my drive, got onto the road & the bike went from under me, I am straddled trying to stand up but the bike was sliding all over, guy at the side of the road just stood watching, eventually had to let the bike go, luckily no damage, got to work with no further incident.
Going home from work on a 250 superdream, going up a dual carriageway in very strong winds, got to open Countryside & the wind forced me into the other lane, luckily managed to correct it before I got to the roundabout

Wimp.
I used to ride in snow, strong winds ice, frost, never let the weather beat me.
It's not being a wimp,
I've been there winter, snow, rain, hail and wind.
But when you now only work 2 miles from home, It's not worth kitting up and getting it out for such a short journey.
I'm still riding in the colder months, just not the BIRD.
