Finally seen it again :-)

Whilst feeding the inverts in my marine reef tank, the "Elusive" Green Starfish came right out of the rocks to feed... I managed to get a shot of him before he scarpered away again...I have put a copy of the pic below... He has now "beefed up" a bit , an bullies his way around behind the rocks, and is now about 13" across from leg tip to leg tip.

The white stuff (spoils the pic I reckon, but there you are)you can see on the pic is called Marine Snow, and is used to feed to corals & iverts in the tanks.

It looks like

A Green brittle star to me, we have a fast red version in our tank, it is also very elusive in daylight, try sneaking in the room late at night with a torch you will see it then.
If you lose any fish that could be your culprit, the green ones have been known to eat things you dont want them too

Personally I think you need to turn the thermostat up in that tank! The poor little feckers will freeze to death if its snowing in there. You wouldn't like to go swimming in the snow would you.

flog the bugger to a newbie and get a couple of serpant stars..purple ones are cool and come out when you feed the tank..along with the other 4598 inhabitants :}
