Just spent a week down in New Forest, Dorset and Devon - it's nice to see that the traffic police down there are even more friendly and understanding than I remember when I lived in Southampton 5 years ago.
It started at Beaulieu - not just with the various speed cameras and traps dotted around the place, but also with the Police videoing every bike that approaches the place.
Then we left the New Forest and headed down the A352 Wareham to Dorchester road. Came to a 50mph speed limit - doing an indicated 55 keeping up with the line of traffic. About 1/4 mile down the road is a junction with a layby on the left hand side where I spy 4 yellow vests. Keep going with the flow of traffic and then I spy the coppers quickly pick up the speed guns and point one straight at me and one straight at Jane - they've not bothered with the line of cars in front of us, they're obviously obeying the speed limits because they're nice save car drivers
Even better, when we get level with them they nod their heads in approval (one even gives me a thumbs up) that we've managed to haul our speed down from a ridicously high and dangerous 55 to about 51 and managed to curb our obvious anti-social and criminal nature. TOSSERS The middle finger nearly came out, but then I remembered the Art Exhausts - and the fact that the bike hasn't quite been re-registered in the UK yet  For the benefit of our friends in blue on this site I'm waiting for an appointment with VOSA for a type approval test before DVLA can re-register the bike.
Then a bit further on we're in a national speed limit - long hill that turns into a 30 limit near the bottom. At the bottom of the hill at the junction is another copper sat in his car. As soon as he hears the bikes his ears pricked up and the money signs began spinning in his eyes - you could see him straighten up in his seat - another speed check. Bollocks to the cars that have just barrelled past him at about 45mph. As we go past he's on the radio - about a mile down the road another bloody plod has already pulled out of a side road in front of us in anticipation of a high speed chase - he decides we're not in rape. murder and pillage mode, gets bored then fucks off up a side road.
A big thank you to Dorset traffic division - it's nice to know that our roads are in safe hands. Well, at least there won't be any dangerous speeding bikers left - just nice safe car drivers that never speed down country roads, never decide to turn into junctions without indicating, never pull out on you etc etc etc ..............
