For work I am a keen exponent of bangernomics and have run a series of old Mercedes in various guises, my current C270 diesel has reached the end of the road(scuse pun), so replaced it with a two year newer (2004) C220 diesel, essentially the same car but a smaller engine. The insurance with direct line has been in place since November and the premium was £181 so guess what the cost of change over is? £86.42, eighty six feckin quid the robbin bastids, after a bit of negotiation got it down to £73.92 bastids, I was genuinely expecting about 15 quid admin fee and I thought the 220 would have been cheaper than the 270 so no more to pay than the admin fee, bastids. Did I mention they are robbin bastids. I suspect when November comes around I'll be leaving their services behind, bastids.
