here we go again about tyres, jeez, the last topic lasted how many pages :}
well as you said it is all about personal choice. at the moment i am using mickyb's bird which is wearing a delectable pair of avon st45/46's bird specific, ie stamped with a B. my own experience with these has not been that great. in the wet, lights up nicely !!!! in the dry, can't fault them. takes a while to get heat into them but other than that, more than capable. much prefer the bridgestones BT020's. having said that, surely the Avon warranty is worth a look at as i discovered when the front went bang last week. with new avons, each tyre carries a free replacement warranty in the event of either puncture/blowout etc etc all they ask is that they tyre has a minimum of 2.4 mm tread on 80 % of the tyre. in which case, free replacement. just pay for fit and balance. can't argue with that for value for money eh !!
so yes, mixed feelings about the avons, just be gentle in the wet ( as with most tyres i guess) and give them time to heat up !!!! lot's of time.
i know Rhino and myself pretty much feel the same about them, and both love the bridgestones, but again, personal choice, personal opinion mate.
which ever you buy, don't be influenced, go with what you feel is right for your style of riding.
cheers
