I am not doing too well on the losing weight front? For some reason I am not losing anything?
What I am struggling with is giving up a glass of wine in the evening:cry: I just can't do without it, lovely to relax on.
I got a book on it, which is extremely interesting and I can fully see the method and reasoning behind it all.
Out of the ever expanding group I know who have been on the Atkins, the only person who struggled to lose any weight was my sister.. Then she discovered ( ppurely by accident ) that although chicken is supposed to be ok, the moment she ate either an egg or bit of meat, her test sticks ( you will know what I mean ! ) went the wrong colour...
After that was sorted she lost 3 stone in three months !
There is a wine that has no carbs in it ( buggered if I can remember what is is ) so maybe all is not lost..
Also, there are many foods that are supposed to be ok, but when you check the packaging have a carb content.. you really have to be a bit careful mate !
My son in law bought the book, the video, and all the bits and bobs ( but then, he is a fitness and health fanatic ! ) and what he has learnt/discovered over the past 2 years he has passed on to the rest of the family.. We aint exactly experts and we all have our own variations, but all of us lose shed loadsa weight !
Reason I love it is cos I adore eggs abd bacon ! When I am doing it, I generally get thru at least 8 eggs and a pound or two of bacon every day !! ( then there is the 1/2 lb of cheese I nosh while watching telly, the green peppers ( HUGE chunks in my omlettes ) and all the other lovely fatty foods I eat !!
What a diet !
There is one thing that you might be doing wrong Alison... You may not be eating enough mate...
It really is a case of the more you eat the more weight you lose..
If you do not eat enough fatty stuff, then the body will not 'donate' the carbs to assist with ingestion, and not a lot will happen.
