After 100,000+ kms in Europe (I live in France), and 8 years, I've finally given up and decided to sell the Bird. I have had two in that time, one a Swiss bike bought at 2500kms and Black, and the second a French one in Blue.

The catalytic converters on the Swiss bike made for better and smoother running and the black paint is vastly superior to the blue which marks easily.

Only problems EVER were the regulator/rectifier packing up at 55,000kms, otherwise lots of chains, brake pads and services, and they run faultlessly. I sold the first at 72,000kms and it was still perfect.

Selling now coz the wife finds it uncomfortable so bought a BMW K1200GT, which is an aweful lot better than you would imagine.

Shame to sell but I've had great service and reliability, and loads of memories of big Euro tours with wife and luggage.
