Yeh, BOTS missed the meeting point last Saturday for the toy ride and do decided to spin the combo around 180 degrees in the road in a doughnut fashion only to fry the clutch :}
The poor old PAN 'n' chair were sat stranded until the fluid cooled down and the lever came back with some feeling. c7u8

Don't believe a word - he's only jealous because my bike was photographed more than his! :lol: :f The truth of the matter is that my clutch plays up now and then - lever all the way to the bar - then slowly comes back - it has got me totally baffled. Unfortunately it happened just before Rhino turned up at the meeting point. I should have smelt a rat as he showed far too much concern whether or not I could make it home! :lol:

A doughnut! In a 3 wheeled Pan?

That would have been worth seeing.

Why do I keep getting this image in my head of Del Boy Trotter 180ing a Reliant Robin. c7u8

See photo at top of thread - see, it's not a Reliant - you can't get them in Castrol Honda colours ( I hope!) :lol:
It does doughnuts a treat - I just shit myself doing it in case it knackers the drive shaft! :cry:

I've heard of it happening to other ST1100's BOTS. RiDE magazine had one as a long-term test bike the year before last....and that one did it on a semi-regular basis. They put it down to the clutch fluid being contaminated with water so losing it's hydraulic capacity.

How old's the fluid in yer bike ???? :dunno:

Last week it was about 5 months old - at the moment not quite a week old! :lol:

Have you tried dot five, or you could always put an extra air scoop in the direction of the slave cylinder. Had it happen on my Range Rover the pipe runs quite close to the exhaust the fluid starts to boil if there is no airflow to cool it.

Probably preaching to the converted though.
