I stand to be corrected but I don't think the decal on the front mudguard is correct.

I am a touch more cynical.....non standard sticker bits suggest a possible respray at some point...my antennae would be twitching.

Maybe without reason, but I would be asking the question.

Does look nice though...in the context of being a motorised cycle from The Industrial Revolution of course....
:D

I do t want to be picky but it is a slow black one and not a fast red one :couch:

If the decals show as wrong then you also have to suspect that shiny paint is either a respray or maybe even Chinese plastics.
Because if it needed a respray then I doubt the plastics would have been crack free.

Now this is all OK as long as the buyer is made aware!

I am talking from experience. It was a while before I twigged that my nose cone was off a (slow) injection and not a carby.
Not having the internal scoop that directs the air to the oil cooler made the bike run a lot hotter!

I had a major fuelling issue because a previous had Dyno-jetted the carbs, was only able to put it right by replacing them!

Yep. That's how I'd be viewing it.

I see no problem with an old bike having some history, a respray or parts replaced, as long as you know what you are looking at & the price is right, if you just look past the shiny & see if the rest of the bike matches up bargains can be had because those that are bothered by a respray etc walk on by

I'd be wondering why someone would post full pictures and description rather than a link and then get defensive over a bike that wasn't theirs. :nusenuse:

I'm not saying to discount it because of the respray, just view it in the context of it having possibly been in a prang and look for the obvious signs.

Took, the words out of my mouth. There won't be many twenty plus year old bikes that haven't been on their side at least once.

Ahem......

Some of the negative comments are
unbelievable.
What a bunch of cynical f@ckwits.
Makes me wonder why I bother?
You are so negative, I bet you lot growl
at yourselves in the mirror everyday.

Some of you have the self believe that you can save the world and all it's foibles.
In reality you couldn't save yourselves.

Now, now, keep yer Alan's on :eaea:

No-one's saying it's a bad bike, just a few inconsistencies that would direct a potential buyer on what questions to be asking that might not be so obvious so some, especially a fuckwit like me that can't put fuel in a bike without adult supervision.

The thing that stands out to me is why the seller hasn't covered the number plate. Otherwise, nice piece of kit. I do love the black ones.

Ooooh steady!

If I were interested in that bike (or any bike come to that) I would be checking for signs it that it hadn't been down the road big time. The fact that it appears to have aftermarket stickers is a possible warning sign that it has been down the road. So I would be definitely asking questions and looking very, very closely. Especially with five owners, who knows what the history is.

Doesn't mean to say it's a duff bike, just looking at possible issues indicated by what you can see.

If you look closely, you can see war wounds on certain parts of the fairing.
I have plenty of new parts along with
wear and tear marks on mine.
The reg is easily checked out on the
DVLA website as long as the VIN No
corresponds with the paperwork then
I would think it's worth a peek by someone on here looking for a cheap
mile muncher? Alas no, now't but trepidation and sharp intakes of breath.
Assume the unassumable at least until
you have checked it out.
If it's wrong...walk away...simples.

Having a great shift...thanks Cougar.

I did post the original link, but due to
personal info, I copied and pasted everything.

Not in a mood, at all. Soz if any of you guys have been offended, not my intention...

No worries, Ogr1. You came across as perhaps being a wee bit tetchy, mate, and we know that's not your style. :D
