ecu / pc3 / dyno / (charts)
I just got my '02 (usa ca model) dyno'd, fi mapped, and fitted with a power commander 3. It's also fitted with a TBR full system 4-1, C5 low mount c/f.
With little knowledge of how to analyze the graphs and specs, the first thing I noticed was absolutely no twitch on and off the throttle - the rev range is now extremely smooth. Where as before at say 9k rpm, if you back off the throttle hard, it would gag for fuel, it's now mapped rich in that area.
More power?.... I notice a little difference, the 20% throttle dyno map shows a pretty significant increase while the 100% throttle dyno map does not, which is where I wanted the increases anyhow.
Better gas mileage?.... after installing just the TBR system my bike dropped from approx 42mpg to 32mpg and is now back up to 37-38mpg.
The pc3 was about $300 and the dyno + mapping was $350 - the dealer did me a deal because of purchasing difficulties, so I paid significantly less, but I'd still pay the full amount (as a recommendation) to have it done, if you are a frequent rider, as I ride approx 500 miles per week on my commute.
Feel free to email me directly if you would like a scan of the charts or a copy of the pc3 map.
Take care!
