Hi,

Having volume problems with my autocom when I wear ear-plugs. Does any one recommend any of the in-ear speaker/Custom earplug solutions or any earplugs that are better for the autocom setup. I have read on other sites about an earplug called Motosafe. Anyone used these?

Cheers Paul

Depends on which.....

Autocom you have... We have the Pro7 (latest) and that has a plug which when inserted into its socket on the main unit, bossts the volume to a level where you can hear it with a set of earplugs inserted in your ears... If you want to go to the expense, you can buy a switch which goes on the handlebars, and switches between low & high volume....

Best of luck,

Don't you have..

Don't you have volume control with autocom? I use Sonic and I have fitted moulded ear plugs. simply turn volume up to max and not a problem up to 100 (maybe more but not tested with pillion over that). Have thought about plug speaker tho. Anyone used them?

Me and Lainey always were ear plugs (Max lite etc) and dont have a problem, and have never gone so fast that either of us cannot be heard. Are you having trouble hearing speech or music? If its only speech, then have you got the ear pieces fitted in the right place in your lid, it does make all the difference. We have the Active 7 system which has a volume control which is turned up to the top.

Autocom and Earplugs

Hi All,

We use the maxlite earplugs, and the speakers work fine at low speed, both music and voice. It's when we get above 50 - 60 that we can't hear each other. We stopped the other day, to have a coffee and decided to move a few hundred yards up the road. We did not bother with ear plugs and the volume nearly deafened us. I think the ear plugs are cutting out all noise, wind and autocom. I am looking for something that would allow the voice and music through but filter out the wind noise. I saw the Motosafe ear plugs on another site and was wondering if anyone had experience of them on this site. The thread on the other site was dated 2003, so there may be newer, better ear plugs available.

I have also seen in-ear head phones with noise filters for the autocom from Headset Services, but by the time you get the phones and the associated leads, it over ?120 for the two of us!

I am going to order a couple of pairs of the Motosafe (?12 each) based on the other forum (VFR) and will let you know how they work out.

Thanks.

Cheers Paul
