It’s the way to drive all old vehicles off the road feckin’ b’stards. Here in the SouthWest we won’t even be getting E5 super unleaded.

I've seen a YouTube video adding coloured water to e10 petrol, which attracts the ethanol, then gets decanted out. (The colour in the water is only so you know what is water and not petrol).
No idea how true it is, but there will be a scientific way around it. Bit like lead replacement additives for old cars without hardened valve seats.

The pumps changed around here a while ago. E5 is being sold in Sainsbury’s and Tesco as ‘premium unleaded’ and now has a premium price tag.*

Stick to Shell V Power and it won’t be a problem. Even better, get a diesel

Mrs P fills up at supermarkets, that’s how I know.

Exactly what I did to avoid the problems listed above.

When looking i noticed the price of older diesels have shot up so I guess a lot of people are thinking the same way

We’ll be picking up a 52 plate Polo in the next week or so. It costs a fortune to tax cos of the emissions and it’s an auto so goes through petrol like shit through a goose. It’ll be handy for knocking around here on short shopping trips and will save the wear and tear on our cars that those of runs have on diesels. I’m in a mind to take it to a car supermarket though and chop it in for a manual Shitroen C1 or Fiat Panda or something similar to do the same job but without the astronomical running costs.

The Citroen C2 diesel is is a brilliant little car 30 quid tax and sips fuel no matter what you do, plenty around nice and cheap too, the only reason I didn't get one was I need a bigger 4 door with a decent sized boot, don't write them off until you have driven one mate

Ps the petrol version is shit

Filled up with fuel today at Tesco, there's a sign saying as off 1st September std fuel changing to E10 looked at pump and it said E10, so I don't know if that's my first fill up with E10 or not

I’m starting to hate the idea of E10 in fuel, but it scares me thinking of these people who manage to extract the ethanol, surely it’s only going to be a matter of time before

BOOM!

I remember a thing on the news a few years ago about a bloke that was storing fuel in his garage. When it went up in flames he was billed by the authorities for the full cost of the fire brigade call out! I'm sure the bill was about £50k

I can see plenty of cases in the future where people are storing de-ethanoled fuel and it goes wrong!

As you all know I raise lolly for air ambulance
A big feature of the Bash has always been the ped racing
Next year I will be de-E10'ing ( :) ) 20 litres for use in them

I've got to be honest, if I had the space I'd be doing it too. Lol

From the GOV.UK site

Quote........................................
Honda
E10 petrol is cleared for use in all European models with petrol engines equipped with electronic control fuel injection system (HONDA PGM-FI).

All Honda motorcycles and mopeds produced for the EU market since 1993 can use ethanol-blended gasoline up to 10% although carburettor-equipped
models could experience poor driveability in cold weather conditions.

Funnily enough I can find info on UK gov & and EU sites saying that it should be OK.
But Honda UK appear to have zilch information or comment.

Anyone seen or had a statement from Honda themselves?

Does Honda really care.
You have yer bike now, tough luck.

And if it screws up, you will have to buy another, bonus for Honda

The issue isn't whether your car or bike will run on E10, it's what it will do to the various engine parts it will pass through and reside in.

The manufacturers will all say it's compatible, but not one will lose any sleep over the effects it will have on your engine and fuel systems long term.....because they'll happily sell you the replacement parts.
