Mainly locking myself out of the house this morning.

But also spending what could have bought me three mining villages in Yorkshire on a pair of golf shoes when I am playing like a total novice at the moment.

Spending £35 on a pair of golf shoes isn't going to change your life. However, locking yourself out the house does indeed qualify you for cock status.

Got the ZZR and Busa out of the garage for a lookover for damage. Fortunately I was able to polish out almost everything, and a small 3mm round missing piece of paint was touched in, i think I got off lightly really.

to cheer myself up I went out to buy a new crash helmet for use riding the commando, then added a pair of gloves, then finally as an afterthought a pair of Kevlar jeans. Ideal for a rideout in the blazing sun again this evening. Except it’s bloody raining again. Typical.

Yesterday my neighbour told me our landlord is going to replace the missing fence panel in the back garden and fix the fence in the front garden

today another neighbour whose garden mine backs onto has said they are going to replace the fence between me and them, it was beginning to look a little tired and cost me a fortune last time.

visit to surgery for blood tests
trip to work to buy compost and pots

chilling with wine

Said goodbye to my ‘Bird yesterday. That’s two bikes gone in a week.

I’m now on the train to my bike dealer in Cardiff…….

Booked a holiday to The Isle of Wight for September…..with free cancellation:(
Ferry prices have soared since we last went a few years back.

Watered the lawn at 5am as heatwave forecast for next few days.

Got an email from the water company at 9.05am asking everyone to reduce usage over the next week.

Fitted a new stator, battery and reg/rec to me birdy. Then strengthened the 3 x 2 ceiling joists in the main bedroom ready for re boarding (have finally ripped the old artexed ceiling down). Watched a bit of the cricket was enough to drive me into a state of depression. Had a couple of beers

Went for a 99 mile blast on the Street, taking it easy as I was scrubbing in brand new tyres.

Went out for the day in the car, had lunch by the sea. It was scorchio! Also for the first time ever I tried a fresh out of the shell oyster - absolutely lovely!

Cracking little bike, love it! She was even better today with the tyres scrubbed in. She’s a real hoot; predictable handling, turns on a sixpence, very nimble and more than quick enough for me. I was lucky to find this one, Street Triple R 675, June 2014 and 235 miles from new. Yes, you read that right, 235 miles from new. Previous owner likes to collect bikes but doesn’t seem to ride them. Anyhoo, I was particularly looking for a Street Triple; had one as a courtesy bike when my Speed was in for a service about ten years ago. I didn’t want to give it back because it was so much fun to ride. I guess I find it more fun to ride a smaller bike as hard as my (limited) abilities allow rather than having a missile that I can only ride at 30%. If I get bored of this one and fancy a change, it’ll be for a 765 RS.

I liked the baby Panzer but I found her quite awkward to ride. I couldn’t get comfortable for a start and I finally lost my sense of humour weekend before last when my hip flexors kept cramping up. I turned around and went home after an hour and finally admitted defeat.

Golf range. Superb. Significantly closing the shoulders , narrowing the stance and relaxing the right elbow in the last week has made a massive difference.

Watched Scotland. Disappointing result, not a bad performance. Small margins.

Cleared the kitchen up after Mrs B’s most excellent chicken teriyakI. Bombsite.
