Hi All,

Just wondering if anybody has had any experience with Draggin Jeans, The last few weeks here in Australia have been like the surface of the sun  and my leathers are just too hot to wear.

So as there seems no end in sight for this heat to end and cool weather for a while I am looking at alternatives, I just know if I wear just plain old jeans there will be a damn roo or wombat or some tintop drop oil around the next corner and their goes half my leg.

any help appreciated

Jack,

Sorry but I cant help with info about the clothing, BUT,

Dont moan about the heat!!!!!!!!

At least you can get out and about ( avoiding the kamakazi (sp) animals of course.

Last night it rained for about 30 mins,

Then it froze solid.

Then at about 8.30 pm it began to snow, and snow and snow. on top of the frozen rain. I had to WALK home from the pub !

Overnight it has frozen the snow on top of the frozen rain.

Can we swap some weather?

:dunno:

Murt,

I'll swap you some rain for the heat any day it hasn't rained here since march 2002 and a 45 deg C (about 110 deg F) getting out and about is not exactly pleasent.

You can keep the snow though being a yorkshire lad I don't have fond memories of the white stuff.

BIF, would ya bike be finished by any chance ???

Murt, I've a pair of HOOD jeans that I purchased for a trip to Spain a couple of year ago (it was over 40 deg C at the time of our visit!). These are normal jeans, but are kevlar lined on the arse & knees. They are also padded and have removal "softish" armour. Having said that, I don't think the armour would actually protect you from much, but the kevlar might provide you with a few seconds of road rash protection :dunno:. Anyway, given that they each provide about the same level of protection I chose the HOOD jeans purely on looks. Since that trip, all other trips to Spain have been organised for when it's not quite so hot, so that I can wear leathers

Where are you at

Pete,

I'm about 500k south a little town called Braidwood 80k east of Canberra and 70k west of Batemans Bay.

I don't like shivering either one reason why I moved here from the mother country in the seventies but enough is enough today was supposed to only 31 and it was 42 its still 35 and almost 7:30pm.

Even the snakes are avoiding it only seen 4 this year normaly twice that by now and with this heat they are come right up to the house came home the other day and what I thought was a large stick my golden retriever was throwing around turned out to be a 1.2 metre tiger snake lucky he was okay but the biggest any of the locals seen around here (we have only lived here 4 years).

I used to ride the bells line rode in my youth (used to live in penrith) ride to mount victoria have a couple of cold ones the try our skill out down megalong valley road. coppers didn't bother us much then but I hear now they are everywhere. :bandit:

excelent logo by the way.

Yep, I've got some but I'm pleased to say that I haven't tested them properly if you know what I mean  . They are incredibly comfortable, just like regular jeans, the kevlar is so soft that it's hard to believe that it would offer any protection but it does. The abrasion resistance is supposed to be awesome.

I wore them in the South of France and they were ideal, nice, cool and comfortable. I think that if you had an off and slid along the ground, they would save you from any road rash as all and any therefore any pain, BUT you need to make sure that you don't hit anything because they do not offer any impact protection at all. If you land heavily on your knee or hit a shin, it's gonna break just like it would if you had jeans on.

If it's so hot that it a choice between normal jeans or Draggin Jeans, use the Draggin ones every-time, road rash hurts like hell, but if you are going for some serious scratching, you might feel safer with some armour...
