I don't think the guy handled it particularly well.....he seemed intent on provoking the plod...but then again neither did the copper.
At the end of the day there are far too many stories being reported in the news and media (with supporting video) that show that plod are targeting the "easiest" options (and going in mob handed when they do) rather than doing proper policing (as mentioned in the video).
We'd all like to see police forces return to their core function, which is to address real world crimes e.g. burglary, car theft, anti-social behaviour, knife crime, assault, etc. but it seems that the hierarchy don't seem to give a toss what the public (i.e. those who actually fund them) want. They seem to think it's far more important to pander to a minority, with rainbow coloured patrol cars and dancing coppers.....unless it's climate change or oil protesters and their ilk, who for some reason seem to be untouchable. Literally.

Nope, filmed by the blokes mrs who posted the video, the bloke doing the commentary is giving his opinion on it and making some points that may or may not be valid
Whether you like what he says or not he does raise some issues (in a bloody irritating way) and they do need looking at with an open mind

The bloke may have been drinking as he didnt stop for a test apparently hence the urgency which still does not excuse the coppers attitude or being unable to take down an old boy and then later when he was in control smacking him in the face with an elbow
Have you noticed that it is often said by plod that people have to pass the attitude test ..... one of these days plod will realise that they too have to pass the attitude test with the public

The reason I didn’t keep watching it is that the ‘opinion former’ immediately stated in as many words he is anti-plod and made unqualified observations about what was happening. He sets the agenda. And I don’t think I am being overly cynical when saying it is done for clicks which means money in his pocket.As expected from a patronizing twat

I am extremely pro-plod for a number of reasons but don’t for one minute think they aren’t accountable. Equally I am ceaselessly amazed by the work they do with extremely limited resources - which is not usually in the public eye - and understand that they simply cannot deal with every crime the way that the majority of the public want. I would love resource to be given to finding the idiot who sprayed a swastika on the door of our locsl museum at the weekend but sadly that falls way down the list of,priorities.
Kinda like being a film critic and slating a movie because while queueing you did not like the commentary from the person in front of you
The influencer ( as they liked to be called ) is not relevant to the video content
Passing comment on something not seen strikes me as being very odd
I used to be pro-police but I am afraid those days are past and I am really a fence sitter being neither pro or anti
The sad thing is, the issues are usually not the constables fault as such, but the total lack of training, of dealing with the public, and the absolutely abysmal leadership
It started when puppy walking was all but abandoned and many of the old hands loosing faith with the scrambled egg brigade
As mentioned before money in his pocket has no bearing on the video or its content, if you dislike the presenter as i do that also has no bearing on the issues raised if you are genuinely open minded enough to watch and consider which it seems you are not

Of course plod are accountable..ultimately by the IPCC but many layers 'in house' before that.
Bear in mind that many complaints against plod are from people who have been caught or are just plain stupid when it comes to policing. Sadly anti plod is ingrained in many youngsters by their 'role models'......last night I watched two lads on a travellers site who couldn't have been more that eight spraying plod with fire extinguishers while their 'role models' laughed from a safe distance behind a security fence.
I'm not going to have a ruck about being 'open minded' - I believe we are at opposite ends of the spectrum re Plod so I don't think it is going to get us anywhere.......and I am trying to book a holiday at the moment anyway.
I gave in to curiosity and watched the video. As I said right at the start there was no corroborated context around why the gentleman in the main piece came to the attention of plod. What happened before? Maybe he was driving over the limit and didn’t want to be brethalised at ‘some bullshit checkpoint’ (not my words). Maybe he was driving erratically giving suspicion to drink/drug driving? The ‘commentator’ seems to think it is ok to call plod ‘a knobhead’ repeatedly. I have witnessed plod being called much worse recently and sadly they generally have to turn the other cheek to deal with higher priority stuff.
The commentator is extremely bias and makes many assumptions. I wonder why he has a massive chip on his shoulder? And, as with many people,blames the police for not dealing with crime rather than the perpetrators for doing it in the first place.
Either way, put 100,000 extra police in the streets and everything will be ok. It’s simple. obvious really.

No ruck involved but i am genuinely interested as to how you are able to believe police can do no wrong when its plainly obvious that as humans they can, there is good and bad in every section of society police included!

You quote the IPCC as the body that the police are accountable to which shows a complete misunderstanding of what and who they are, i would suggest you do some research into them before going off half cocked on that one, I am sure T.C and others can enlighten you on that score if they wish to.
Yes i agree many more plod on the street could improve things a lot but only if they are well trained and very motivated to do what is a very demanding job, i am sure others will have an opinion on this but to my mind the standard of training and criteria for being a successful applicant has not so much slipped as fallen off a cliff in the last 20 years
As far as I can find saying someone is a dickhead is not against the law mr sensitive plod in the video used it purely as an excuse to try and flex his muscles ... pathetic in my view
It wasnt even said to him as in "you are a dickhead" the comment was made to the wife as in "i am dealing with this dickhead" and it appears that no members of the public were present to be offended
The second officer shown also tried to use the same excuse to arrest the wife, yes i know the video was cropped but really? whatever the truth its just bullying tactics by both officers............. shades of Judge Dredd "i am the law!" like i said earlier respect is earned not given out with a shiny suit
I have never at any stage said or even implied ‘police can do no wrong’.
As for the video in question any observations are based on assumptions rather than facts.

Doesn’t the fact that it’s being video’d for social media open it up to public presence?
