Do you ever wonder why car drivers keep knocking us off and claiming not to have seen us?
In todays paper there was perhaps a little clue to this.
Apparently, almost half of all drivers haven't got the faintest idea what some of the most common road signs mean. Which means they are driving round assuming they probably have right of way in most situations and just carry on regardless until there is a smash of some sort.
Personally, I think all road users should have a retest every 5 years and all at fault drivers should take a retest before being allowed out on the roads again.
Could be another great tax earner for the commander in theif, aka G Brown

I'd say there's probably two seperate probs here maybe?

1. Daft drivers
I've not been able to credit the intellegence that must be invovled for the M6 toll to remove the pricing for 'bkikes cause it confuses the car drivers. I just can't understamd why a picture of a bike with a price next to it is confusing.
If it really is geuine then it's frightening what must be going on in the heads of some car drivers.

2. Couldn't Care Drivers.
I suspect there seems to be an increasing number of drivers without license/insurance etc. As the use of computers to track this improves (i.e automatic fines for no road tax) it seems to be encouraging some to actually drive without anything as once they/the vehicle are on any database they are easily tracked fined. By not bothering with a test/insurance/registering a vehicle to them then all this is avoided and with the reductions in trasffice police the chances of being caught are reducing. If caught they get a ban (hows that going to bother them?) and a fine which they can easily drag out and avoid.

Have you ever thought about people that wear glasses and don't turn their heads at junctions, the frames on some glasses would obscure a fecking Transit never mind a motorbike!!!!

So when are we having this organised ride through the toll then, anyone know when their peak periods are?????

pete, I wear glasses and I've never experienced that "blind spot" phenomenon, mind you I don't wear "elvis Costello/Roy Orbison" types, :-: I have however missed seeing stuff that has been obscured by waggon wing mirrors and some "thick" A posts on cars!! mind I've always "double" checked and never been hit by anything "yet"

the number of drivers with poor eyesight is seriously worrying too! Compulsoy, sight test every 2 years me thinks combined with the a re-test every 5 years. I also think you shouldn't be allowed to take more than 3 re-tests; I mean if ya haven't passed by then ya shouldn't be on the feckin road.
Take the case of the Oxford numpty who took 33 years and ?27,000 to her pass driving test. A 50 yr old who'd taken it so many times she can't remember the exact number. She failed in Feb, March, April & June of this year but passed with 15 minors - one more and she'd have failed.
The driving test agency (name?!) were pleased for her  but what about the rest of us?!!! :dunno:
Should people who obviously haven't got a clue really be allowed that many tests? Bloody hell, she could have got a physics degree in less time than that by chance alone...!
And guess what she's going to buy now.
Go on....

That's right....

It just had to be....

Good point Joe,but going back to my thread, it probably means she has now reached the pinnacle of her knowledge and will start regressing, just like the others interviewed for the survey. She may have passed the minimum requirement to be allowed on the road but will be nothing more than a bloody menace to everyone else.

PS did you know your mate has now left us at Tranam and gone to work for the comic?
