and I expect you think for one second he is even going to look at a single email!!! fat chance, the bastids have their own agenda, no amount of "protesting/emailing" etc is going to make a blind bit of difference!!

Wolfie

Is a lunp
so in that case ian, just sit there and do feck all.

If nobody trys to do anything nothing will ever get done.

and then we can all blame ourselves for the shit we are in and i am not just talking about making poverty history.

Fact

the freedom marches in the 60's in america changed things

the antiwar marches etc during the vietnam war changed things

the people power of the phillpenes changed things.

our own civil war changed things

the poll tax protests changed things

thing are always being changed by protests.

But hey it dont matter cause that is how us brits think, we just look and say aint that bad poor people and then just do fook all because we are fairly safe in our houses.

I respect your choice to think in that way, please respect others who want to, and believe that the people can, make a change.

or just sit there and do feck all and be quiet, dont waste your time to send an email, or ?2 for a white band, because it wont make a difference.

As somebody once said if you aint part of the solution then you must be part of the problem.

Your choice.

I believe (but I could be mistaken) it was none other than Kofi Annan, whilst addressing the middle east regarding terrorism, but he may have borrowed the quote from someone else :dunno:

I made my choice during the election, but too many people voted the tosser back in, so if its a "pop" at anyone you want, have a go at the great british voting public!! :wank:
as for your "american" examples of "protest" the numptys are still ruling by stealth lies and stupidity, g0551p
the English civil war was started by the churches "again", nowt to do with "opinions" and protest!!
if you tell someone something often enough it becomes true,
I think thats whats called brainwashing!! :dunno:
rubber bands!! WTF is that all about??? have the condom makers "branched out" and make these things free of charge?? perhaps they should send a couple of lorry loads of their original product over seas free of charge, may make a few less "unwanted" pregnancy's,

I will admit I am one of those great british public that voted Mr Blair back in, and again I will admit that it was for purely selfish reasons, it was a stand against the tory's privatisation policy's, because if the Tory's got in again then most of the Prisons in this country would be in the Private sector and run by companies like Group 4 or whatever they changed their name to, and I would be expected to do the same job for approx half the wage, and also the 25 years I have spent building up my pension would have been worthless,

Do not kid yourselves that we would be any better off under the Tory's, I have friends who are still not talking to their Fathers/brothers/sons etc because of what the tory's did to the Miners.

MRSA is a direct result of Tory policy of privatising the Hospitals, so the contracts go to the cheapest quote, you pay peanuts you get monkeys

or those who did not vote.

not having a "pop" at anybody, just pointing out that if we all thought the same as you, feck all would get done IMHO.

as for your "american" examples of "protest" the numptys are still ruling by stealth lies and stupidity

cause people sit there and do feck all

if you tell someone something often enough it becomes true

like
"protest gets you nowhere????"
"be a good boy and let the government sort out what is best for you????"

I think thats whats called brainwashing!!

dont read newspapers, hardly ever watch the news as they are all trying to brainwash you with their own brand of crap

the English civil war was started by the churches "again", nowt to do with "opinions" and protest!!

there was me thinking that the Parliament of the day decided to stand up against the king and tell him that he could not have it all his own way. Perhaps i am wrong.

perhaps they should send a couple of lorry loads of their original product over seas free of charge, may make a few less "unwanted" pregnancy's,

perhaps if you looked into things a little deeper you might find that they tried that but due to the different way of life   (yes people are allowed a different way of life  ) a lot of people wont wear them they are alien to them and thier way of life, their religious beliefs will not let them.

rubber bands!! WTF is that all about???

try reading about them, they are also in hand made fabric, it shows that you want poverty to be made history, they cost ?2!!!

The heaven and earth show this morning had some guy on talking about why he doesn't give to the third world charities, his reason is that every penny you put into a tin in the street just funds the military in these country's,
When you consider the amount of money raised in the first live aid concert, coupled with the numerous cancellations of the third world debt, added to the money raised over the years by collectors and charity shops, why are these people still living and dieing in these conditions, if I thought for one moment that me putting money into a tin would help these people then I would give and give, but are we actually doing more harm than good by making what I call donations of conscience, put a fiver in the tin if it makes you feel better, but what if that fiver goes to fund a few bullets that end up inside some child's skull,
Before anybody labels me a tight bastard, I give to several charities already, and I feel that we should be putting our own house in order before we get involved with others, ie in this country we have our own share of child cruelty/poverty/homelessness/mental health etc and that is before I even start on the animal issues.

i fookin whole hearted agree, i have cried when i see the pics of babies suffering in africa, no human should have to endure so much pain, if truth were known our guilt should stand testiment to all thats wrong with the world, and lets not forget that the guilt of those who have wealth beyond our comprehension ie pop stars, footy stars, major politicians their guilt should be multiplied by the level of oppulence they enjoy. there will always be some c#*t prepared to siphon your hard earned cash before it reaches the needy,, but how do we get our heart felt gifts to the stick thin, swollen bellied child in some far off desert:dunno:
in truth we have to trust the dogooders who trust the stars who in turn trust the charity who trust the head of whatever banana republic is in question! i think thats what geldof and his mates have been saying anyway.
God bless those with less than me
sorry if i pissed any peep off

Food for thought

25% of the adult population of Britain are living in poverty
15% of those are outright home owners
17% have a mortgage
33% are living in private rented accomodation
and 61% of people living in social rented accomodation are living in poverty
