All of you who berated that guy for riding his bike in the outside lane of the motorway are a bunch of hypocritical nannies IMO.
There are plenty of people out there who see bikers as 'mad' and even those who go so far as to say bikes should be banned, all because bikes are seen to be dangerous. Bikes are not dangerous, they don't bite. They only hurt you if YOU do something wrong, such as ride beyond your limits. Or if someone else does something wrong, which is why you should be switched on at all times to watch out.
When you don your leathers, what makes you think you aren't gonna get hurt? Why does wearing a dead cow make you go so fast through those corners/along that straight? It's all about the risk assessment that we all make that enables us to put a leg over the bike everyday.
That guy was doing, what, 70-80 down the m/way? So what? How many people do you see falling off in a straight line? As long as he's alert for cars/muppets/hazards etc he'll get home ok. When he pulled off the m/way he might've not gone above 50 the rest of the way home if that's how he risk assessed his surroundings.
Those of you who are so quick to judge are the :wank: as far as I'm concerned, get your heads out of your arses and get a job in the government so you can wrap us up nicely in some more cotton wool :bang:
Rant over, love you all really :k
