No more heroes. RIP. One of the best punk era bands.

I saw them when I was still at school in the late 70's, at a rock festival in Loch Lomond Bear Park.
Some idiot tried to get in without a ticket and some how found himself in one of the bear compounds, where he ended up being chased up a tree by bears, before being rescued by the park rangers.
I think the NME later reported that JJ Burnel heard about it and got him a free ticket.!

Saw them in a big top at the Elephant Fayre in Cornwall many years ago, probably early 80's.

They were on the same bill as Souxsie & the Banshees, John Cooper Clarke. From memory the Stranglers wasn't even on the bill, they just turned up.

Not quite an RIP moment, but health related and seems appropriate in this thread, I see that Don Powel, drummer with Slade (My favourite band in the 70's and I still have a lot of their albums) has suffered quite a big stroke.
