Went out to scrape ice off the cage this morning to take my son to school.
Temp guage in the car was displaying -5 c 8ree!
At least the heated seats kept my rear warm

I would pity anyone who HAS to take out the Bird in that.

Whats it like where you lot are?

apparently it's cold out, "oop ere" or so Tina tells me, she said she was frozen at 5.30 this morning, when she was scraping the ice off the car, so she could go to work and keep me in "T" luxury I deserve!!
I was going to put the "bin" out, but when she told me "the above" I left it so she could do the job when she got home!! :dunno:
double glazing, central heating and insulated walls

Not a cloud in the sky, still freezing but its really sunny.

Looks lovely through the window (and thats exactly how its gonna stay till I have to go and pick the lad up from school at 2.45)

As for fishing.....Plenty of salmon running up my local river. 1/4 mile away.Season ended on 31October though:xm

Quite fancy trying sea fishing though.

Minus 7 here in Owdham. Rode the winter bike to work as usual. Finger ends dropping off after the 4 mile trip. Must be old age.

I went to work in the car this morning as I was taking it in to the dealers at dinner time, I got in the car yesterday and put the key in the ignition and the clock changed from telling the time to showing me the temperature. so I moved it back to time, removed the key and then put it back, again the time changed to temperature, so I thought the computer was playing up, so I called at the dealers & explained what was happening, and he very politely said "Yes sir it's meant to do that when the temperature reaches below three degrees" (Not the singers) whoops :p I then remembered that when I bought the car the dealer did explain this to me.

I'm probably being extremely thick here, but I don't understand why, when there is not a cloud in the sky and none forecast to come anywhere near in the next few days and thus, I assume, no risk of rain and thus frozen bits, the authorities have to coat the highways in salt. Doesn't that just absorb atmospheric water and cause a mess, and insofar as it affects visors and windscreens, create more risk than it reduces?

Well, they have to do something to keep their overinflated pensions and underachieving jobs! Its still only just zero here in Loch Striven and its 9am with the sun (just) up! Think I'll take the mountain bike today!

Last year I went through the highlands quite a bit snowboarding and visiting friends through all sorts of road conditions with no bother in the beloved Saab I had at the time, after selling this a few months ago to boost the coffers for a house extension, I thought I'd be able to make do with a ten year old Golf Diesel.
After a frought trip to Glasgow with the family of 4 and the 8stone dog I realised this not going to work so decided an estate was in order.
So being the clever ladyparts I am what did I go buy just as they announce the onset of the worst winter for X years
