Does anyone have any experience of the 'Blackbird spares' custom seats. I have only had my bird for a month but find that any more than 70 - 80 miles in one go is a real pain in the butt, both for myself and my pillion. Are the gel pack option really worth the extra ?90 ??

OK. I have a spare seat (?20 e-bay) as my original is starting to split near the tank end. How much does it cost to have a custom seat made on my original/spare base unit? :dunno:

I'm 6ft 2in so I don't need it lowered but would appreciated a bit of extra padding! In seat not my bum! man8um

This seems like a common upgrade....

How do the 'Blackbird Spares' seat compare with the 'Mellboy Seat' ? Are there any differences ? Which is the better seat ? Thanks for your comments !! 8l1nd

Limpy,

Your link doesn't appear to work! man8um Should I try www.farmers.com
or www.nobbystiles.com perhaps? :xm

I posted lurid details about my anal problems a couple of months ago. I'm not going there again [nor FB]! c7u8

Well I think I can go both ways here..........

no rude comments please!!!

I had a Melboy seat on my bike. Not a bird, but nevertheless very well made and comfortable. I have no idea what they are like on the bird though.

We also have a custom seat on the bird and found out that it was made by the same folk that BlackbirdSpares uses. From that I will say that I totally recommend using Blackbird Spares to get your seat done. Well worth it.

Beautifully made and yes the gel pads are more than worth the money!!!!!! man8um

Hope that helps

Melboy works

I've just fitted a Melboy seat fitted - a modified version of my own with gel pack in the front section and also lowered an inch. ?90 + P&P. Immediate turnaround - Great!

I've just had one of Mel's seats fitted as well. Phoned up on the Thursday, delivered on the Monday. Had the seat on for a couple of weeks - fantastic improvement and yes. After a week riding around Hampshire, Dorset and Devon I can say that the gel packs are definately worth it. :yo:

Which one did you go for M8, if you don't mind me asking?

Lumpy - I don't have GPS and navigate by the stars. Only problem was we travelled at day, so might have to re-think that one!! Only popped out for the papers as well man8um man8um
