So what do you do on a Saturday when Russ and Sue are12000 miles from their Blackbird? After the obligatory honeymoon shot at the beach house, you go kayaking bigtime :yo:
Launch in Coromandel harbour and paddle out through the entrance to a deserted island a km offshore to have a gourmet picnic lunch. You can't see it on the first shot, but Russ and Sue are on the island beach taking photos of a giant stingray in the shallows. They'll post those photos in a day or so. After that, it was paddle a few km to another bay where I went and picked them up (you can see them as tiny dots to show the scale of the island). What they didn't know until they got back was that there were 4 hammerhead sharks on the surface near them - no worries mate, the glare off your white legs blinded them
Then it was back to the beach place to get ready for a BBQ in their honour with all our neigbours who brought fresh venison, steak, lamb and a million other cool edibles. Here are the happy couple having nibbles and killing a few brain cells before the BBQ.
Russ and Sue are a fabulous couple and it was just great to meet them after a couple of years of emails. Yup, a pretty good Saturday all right
