Afer looking forward to a day in the Lakes on my birthday yesterday I set off up the A65 full of optimism. After 100 miles of filtering, cornering, braking and accelerating I arrived in the most beautiful part of England.
The last bit of the day took me from Keswick along Borrowdale, over Honister Pass to Buttermere and back towards Keswick. It would have been nice but for the wet roads, fallen leaves, and the wet cattle-grid where I nearly lost it. I think it was only the inertia that took the front wheel over and got the grip back on the other side.
Things improved a bit as I hit the A66 to go the fast boring way home. Then on the approach to Penrith disaster. The bike started misfiring and the dials started jumping up and down. I managed to get to the filling station where I was going to fill up for the journey home.
A call to the RAC, and 3 hours later I was on my way home with a new reg/rec and battery fitted. brok3
Thank you for reading and all messages of sympathy and understanding will be greatly appreciated :violin:
