Cracked Fairing

Honest, it was like that when I got it!!!

Anyhoo, my 'bird has some cosmetic damage to her, (Might be the reason she was up for ?800 less than book!), due to pevious owner forgetting about sidestand. While most of it is scratches, there is a crack in the fairing next to the screen. Runs for about three inches from screen to edge above left wrist. What is also concerning me is the appearance of another crack coming out from uder left mirror running to the screen, (I'll try and get a picture or two to make it easier to see).

Main question is this, Can this be glued/welded together? If the latter are there any plastiwelders here that would be willing to do the job, for a, (Small), fee of course. Failing that anybody know how much a top fairing would cost?

Any comments suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Done the same thing, got the same cracks, My cack handed attempt lasted 4 months, now cracked again

I used a soldering iron and filler etc. do not buy the cheap plastic repair kit from halfords, cracked open in less than 100 miles


Ordered nose cone new from dave silvers for ?275, right paint code and complete with decals, delivery date 3-4 weeks, ( has to order them from american ).


Still at least i will have a spare when i have the time/money to repair it.

Fairing parts turned up today, 1 week after ordering them! :} .

Don't know how they look yet as i am at work, parts are at home.

Send an email to Richard66 - Jaws told me that he repairs plastics and he also has the correct colour code paints for the BB.

I'll be going to see him soon as well - got a crack through the fairing that runs from the middle of the left hand wing mirror to the screen.

Cracked nose cone and scuffed fairing last year also broke 3 out of 4 head light brackets. OK I was doing wheelies at work so deserved every bit of damage, Shoved it under a Jeep.
Any way repaired crack and brackets with gas powered soldering iron, nowt else worked fine.

Last night picked up more war wounds as I got my fairing down on a roundabout. Will have to pay a visit to the paint shop at end of year. Anyone know a good cheep one.

Someone suggested having a big white arrow pointing to last nights scuff. Well proves you can ride em hard.
