I was in Cornwall for the eclipse, not far from Bodmin Moor. Stayed in a pub in Camelford. I knew the owner as I'd stayed there pretty much every year for the previous 4 years. She put me the (then) missus and my dog up for £10 per night B&B. The catch was I cooked my own breakfast if there was a lock in the evening before, but then I also served behind the bar one night too when she was short staffed. A couple took the room next to us & were charged £35 room only. It was definitely a case of 'who you know'.
They re-paid your loyalty, which is pretty cool. Equally cool of you to lend a hand behind the bar (y)

I watched the eclipse, from Green Park next to Buck House. Two things I remember; the amount of people that took no notice whatsoever and all the birds going quiet as they thought it was bedtime.

I had to work in Bristol at the time of the eclipse, I rode down the day before and stayed with friends, went to work in the morning but the job ran over a little and I missed it completely, then on the way back number 2 piston made a bid for freedom at 90mph and I had to push the fully loaded heap 3 miles uphill to the next services where I was stuck for a couple of hours not getting home until gone 10pm

I really enjoyed that :(

Years ago we had a lodger, I took him to a job in Harrogate on the back of my 250 Superdream, he wore a Parka with the hood over his helmet, it was a wet miserable day & as he didn’t have any gloves he put his hands in his pockets, by the time we got to Harrogate he had fallen asleep, how he stayed on at the bends is a miracle, had it been dry I would have taken the corners faster & I think he wold have been on the floor.

My wife would always fall asleep on the back of the Blackbird and the Busa. You don’t fall off as you instinctively balance all the time.

Presumably you let her in the house now?
