I've got a brand new iridium windshield to fit and no garage. I'm bursting to see what it looks like on and it has been hissing down all morning and the afternoon isn't looking much better. New cans on their way from ebay so please stop this bl**dy rain somebody.

Pergola.....not a chance!!! I don't mind the rain but there is a lot of wiring exposed when the windshield is off! :violin:

good looking AND modest
just get a "brolly" you old slacker,!! the wiring gets wet with the rain splashing up on to it so it wont be that much difference will it??? unless you intend spending "hours" in driving rain,!!! wiring exposure to "the elements" should only be a few Min's at most,!! screen screws out 5 Min's, old screen removed thirty seconds, rubber nuts swapped 30 Min's,"your Bound to drop one" insert into new screen 2Min's, fit new screen 3Min's, tighten the lot 10Min's, job done!! :dunno:

I'll have you know my nuts dropped long ago. Unlike someone we all know I don't have FB chasing me around trying to supervise the process.
seriously the last iridium screen I had was damaged when it was moved from my redbird to this bluebird so I really do want to take my time with it. I have now had two replaced under warranty so I wouldn't like to bank on a third. I hasten to add they were relaced due to the centre "blowing out" and not cos of any ham-handedness.(Is that a word?)

If I were you I'd put off fitting the new screen until after the winter. If you're not careful the road salt plays havoc with the metallic coating.

it's done

The rain stopped this morning and it's fitted. Three times ...... First time because the screwer put too much pressure on the bottom rhs screw and pushed it through. second time because the friggin holes at the top on both sides were toooooo sssmmmaaaallll to take the enlarged land on the screw. Drilled out the two top holes to 7mm and third time lucky.. Off this afternoon over the A384 between Newtown and Crossgates....20cough minutes for 23.5miles with mainly dry roads and some standing water........ lllooovvveeelllyyyy.Hot chocolate and toasted teacakes...... Ain't life grand...... Bbird and fantastic roads.... it don't get any bettteeerrrrrr. thanks all for your interest. I'll post a photo when I sober up. :yo: :yo: :yo:
