Get heated grips!! They are the best thing in the whole world.

Also - the Knoxx wind proof gear is very good. Sadly I don't have room for padding:xm , but I wear a thick fleece, and usually a motorway jacket over the top of my leathers - and yes, I do look like a flourescent Michelin Man! But I'm not so cold as I could be!!!:neenaw:

I learnt during 2005 after I got my alpine stars two piece, that the wearing of a good quality fleece (worn on TOP of leathers) works remarkably well....

...I would like heated grips, but for my BeeDay, I am hoping that SWMBO buys a nice little HID kit from Jaws instead....

Exhaust pipes make excellent glove warmers for those of us without heated grips.

Also a copy of The Guardian stuffed down the front of my jacket keeps the worst of the wind away when the weather takes a turn for the worst.

My arms aren't long enough to get to the exhausts!! And aren't you supposed to be hands forward anyway?!!!

and Nosher - isn't the Fleece Over the Leathers a bit of a bugger in the rain??

'isn't there a smiley with a question mark somewhere????:xm

I've tried that but my hands then get cold REALLY quickly, and I have to stop again within a mile or two........

we warm our gloves up on the vents on the side pannels works well

we stop every hour our so and are rarely indoors to keeping warm is nearly impossible as sooner or later we feel the cold

normally sooner

and i have no one to warm me up

See if you can find some of the charcoal hand warmers - I think Millets sell them. You light a stick of charcoal and it goes inside a case which then warms up - stick a couple in inside pockets of your leathers, and with the big coat over, you should be ok.:dunno: Youll never stay totally warm in the winter unless you trade for a tin box. This is the first winter in 3 I've put the bike away in favour of a car. Sad but true - must be getting old!!

I bought a cheap ?30 winter jacket at the NEC in November, and I have to say it was excellent on a 100 mile trip down the M6 in freezing fog. My hands and toes eventually felt cold, but I'm only using some thermal "autumn" gloves and sidi vertebra2's.

Another method is use the pocket warmers inside a spare pair of gloves kept in your topbox when your hands get too cold swap your gloves for the warm ones and put the pocket warmer in the gloves you have just taken off, as the pocket warmers last for several hours you need never have cold hands.

Winter riding isn't about expensive 'cold weather' gear, it is just finding something that works! R#?

a stop at a motorway services and a trip to the bog for the hand dryer is often an option!! whilst holding the gloves open and blowing the air into the glove you tend to warm through a bit at the same time!!
