I'm looking for heated gloves and wonder what solutions some of you have come up with besides the ones that are powered thru your bike's battery. I have a pair of mittens with the gel packs attached. You throw them in the microwave for a minute or two and they get warm enough to keep your hands warm for +/- 45 min. Besides the fact that they are wearing out (after 10 years), they are only good if my destination has a microwave to reheat them for my return ride. I've seen some that use regular D-cell batteries - and one that uses power paks that looks like just the thing, but is so expensive the price tag will take your breath away - not to mention, require you to sell your first born to afford them.
Have any of you come up with unique solutions (besides to stay home :} )?

A Company called KLAN are doing heated (via the bikes electrics) inner gloves, BUSTERS are selling for about ?59. More expensive than Heated grips, but may be worth looking at? :dunno:

Hey I have an idea, dump the bike all together! After all even in good warm weather it's unpractical, you don't have a boot in which you can put stuff, tank range is shite compared to cage, you need to wear silly clothes, it's more dangerous, less stable, you can't have a fag or a sandwitch while riding... Or another even better idea, keep the bike so you have street cred, after all it looks cool when you say you're a 'biker', but then never use it, and when you go on holiday simply trail it! You're sorted, all the advantages of owning a bike without any of the knacks w;;v

Just got around to reading the Jan. issue of "Motorcyclist" mag and guess what was features in their "Gear" section - Aerostitch Warm Wrap Grips. They do hook to the bike battery, but they only wrap around, not replace, the stock grips - and at least "I" am not wired to the bike - a mild phobia of mine. They're also quick detach and fasten with a hook and loop type fastener. The price won't induce a coronary either - $45. Anyone here had experience with them?

Is a lunp
Yep , i have got the oxford ones, they get very hot and i have to turn them off every now and then.

I also used some cable ties around the grips , because i found they slide when using the throttle in anger.

Cold hands?

Well, Steve went for a ride to Belgium today and said it was a tad chilly, even saw some snow, but he has some Klan heated inner gloves and a pair of Frank Thomas mutant gloves, said his hands were toasty warm   the rest of him was a tad on the cold side but his hands were ok

Still, its not all bad, at least I warmed him up when he got home

I sold my first born but my hands are still cold. 8ree!

Should I sell the second born too? And her lad, my Grandson? c7u8

Wrapping my freezing mitts around the exhaust headers helps after I've switched the engine on! %$fan

Alternatively have a vigorous wank with both your hands, that should warm them up

Trouble is Pierre, that some of them on here will have to do it one hand at a time... Then the other one will go cold again.... 8ree!

Having said that... They have to find it first of they are really cold.....:f

Go for heated grips or Hein gerikes two finger winter gloves...Lovely toasty hands all the time...:-:

Cheers,

Rolfy
