As we all know this weekend the clocks go forward and we lose an hours sleep. But good news the EU has decreed that from 2022 countries will no longer change their clocks, and that countries will be free to decide if they want to stick on summer or winter time.

As we may still be in Europe I think we should have a vote on it.:aplastao:

For a long time now, I've only put the clock back.

Looking out my window here in Peterborough, it's fine & sunny at 3.48 AM :)

I like the change.
There was an experiment hear years ago not changing. A number of children were killed going to school in the dark.

Staying on Eurotwat time would be an enormous mistake (cue disagreement from Beaker). It’s another subject that some of these liberal fuckwits bang on about without understanding what they’re really asking for.

The main problem is that it extends daylight too late into the evenings; the human brain doesn’t release serotonin until it starts getting dark, which means we’re ‘later’ getting tired and later going to sleep. Then, people wonder why they can’t get up in the (dark) mornings.

“So what” you all say. Well, I’ll tell you what: the biggest problem is getting the kids to sleep at night, they can’t get up in the mornings and are knackered all day. Their school work subsequently suffers and they end up thicker than they already are. Think I’m bullshitting? Ask the Portuguese; they adopted being on Eurotwat time for a few years ( ack in the 70s, I think but I’m not sure) but, fortunately for them, someone in a position of authority had a few brain cells and noticed an alarming decline in the kids’ school work and exam grades and shifted them back to GMT in winter and then daylight saving time in summer.
