But lets step back a pace and all get our conspiracy theory hats on.
What if.....
They're all actors, they all know it's a hoax and it's us- the viewing public that are being fooled into thinking that most of the 'players' are non the wiser when in fact they're all in on the japes together in order to to fool us!

of course it is. But when they were infected by the reality virus they thought they were in a game. Remember? Kryten was a traffic cop, Lister was the Leader, Cat had no style (like JAWS), and Rimmer was the Leaders down and out half brother.

As far as I can see Bill it's not on S4C, but on the regular C4 (it might be on S4C at another time or day but if it is, I don't know the details!).
