Chancellor Must Cut Fuel Taxes Now!

Wolfie

Is a lunp
agree, but i for one have a square arse, and had have enough.

To sit there and moan changes nothing, if people are not told both sides to every story they will just sit there and take it, and then moan about it. If lower taxation works for other countries then why can it not work here????

Diesel prices in particular are far lower in Europe. The UK price is now over 80p per litre yet in almost all European countries it is below 55p.

Strensham Services (M5) today, I paid 89.9p for diesel. The guy on the till told me that diesel in Blackburn, Lancashire this morning hit ?1.02p per litre!!

The only truly effective way of having a meaningful fuel price protest is for the whole country to boycott one oil company in it's entirety. That way the government can't stop anyone protesting... and the petrol company would go ballistic. It's been suggested a few times before but you can't get everyone singing the same tune...

Yet my boss buys diesel in bulk for around 68-73p litre.

But hey rob, just enjoy it. :bang: :bang: :bang:

Rob that's a great idea, but as you know it's not the petrol companies who make the most of the profit, it's the government, and I don't know if that would be enough for the price to go down... BTW baril of crude at $40 today, the petrol boys must be happy - last year before the wat it was at about $25 - so obviously some people benefited from the whole situation, and it ain't us :bang:

You really don't know when you're well off.
If you want to better youself get a better job. If your aren't able to because of your abilities then tough. We are all at different rungs of the ladder. Moaning about your lot doesn't help anybody, least of all yourselves. There will all ways be people who are better off than u and people who are worse off. Stop fooking moaning.
If you dont like it here then fook off.

Seems to me that every which way I turn now, some twat wants to rip me off! The local Council want more Tax out of us than Westminster City Council, and for what, roads that are a death trap. Police taken off the streets and roads, so the yobbos, idiot drivers are free to roam at thier leisure. I agree with you guys, how much longer can this go on?

Employers are taking the piss (I know, I'm in the middle of a mega bust up now, nothing I can do though, my face dont fit) and walking over people and ruining lives.

I can take my car (Diesel) to Dover (45 miles) with 6 Jerry cans, pop over to France on the Ferry, fill the car and cans up in Calais and come home, and still get it cheaper than buying that amount in this Country.

I wont say on here what the wife and I earn between us a year, but it aint bad, and we are at a point of tightening the belts, I for one am in awe of the guys who work and the wife is at home with the kids, and make ends meet, I take my hat off to them.

Once Great Britain was GREAT, we were world leaders, now this Country is a laughing stock with the rest of Europe and the World.

Its true what they say, WE DO just sit on our arses and moan, we need action!

Roxxo, respectfully, I think that you're missing the point.

I pay taxes, I want them to be efficiently used. What is wrong with that? Yet when I have a crash and go to A&E for my girlfriend in danger of being paralysed I experience 3rd world medecine (and I am not exxagerating) - despite everybody's taxes. Maybe you're ok with people taking you up the arse with a fistful of sea salt and making you believe it's a rare delicacy to be savoured, but I'm not, nor are what you call moaners.

roXXo said:

Of course but what does it have to do with the point raised by Andy?

You are just echoeing what the governement is saying in nicer words - yet you call that a democracy? The governement is accountable to how they spend our money, and we the people are entitled to ask - and to protest when we believe it is mis-spent. Moreover, it is our duty. Now call it moaning if you will.

Stop fooking moaning.

No, I will not. If i don't agree with something then i will fight against to the best of my ability.

If you dont like it here then fook off.

This is my HOME, i was born here, i believed that england was the best at everything in the world and that it stood for the truth and was just and fair to its people. Why should i fook off just because some people have let it slide and become a shithole that has forgotten its people????

Moaning about your lot doesn't help anybody, least of all yourselves

Yes it does, you get moaners together a plan is hatched and action is taken. Also some people need to let off steam and that in itself is good for you.

There will all ways be people who are better off than u and people who are worse off

Of course there will be!!! but those in power should be made to raise everyones standard of life.

If your aren't able to because of your abilities then tough

Does that include disabilities, accents, background. etc. etc.

If you want to better yourself get a better job

Yeah there is a lot of them about aint there?? thats why people are working in sweatshops still in this country, and more and more people are coming out on strike, not sure if you are aware but manufacturing has been in a recession for the last 7 years, there is a shortage of HGV drivers because the Hrs and wages are crap.

We are all at different rungs of the ladder

Yes we are, but when the ladder keeps on getting pushed down is that fair or right??? how long before you are pushed down further???? is it right that old fred down the road worked for 50+ years, fought in the war to live in a bedsit with no heating except his 2 bar electric fire??? counting his pennies cause he only just has enough to get by if he is lucky???

You really don't know when you're well off.

   You are feckin right there, cause i have never been well off so i have no idea what it is like. Born working class, still working class, still getting screwed by those whos JOB it is to represent me.

afraid you are on a loser

Roxxo my m8,,,,,, the yanks have it right ( in some respects) twice as much pay for same (similar) job & cost of living is 20% less.

Got to agree with Wolfie,,,,,, far to many taxes & loads of money (tax payers) wasted prolly on fat civil servants,, to many Mp's etc, etc,

Spains health system is far better than ours,,,,,,,,, speaks volumes that does....

converting our car to LPG next month,,,,, 33p a litre get cost back in 12 months,,,, will save ?70 a month straight away.

In NHS there is 5 (4?) admin people for 1 active staff , far more than in similar systems in the rest of Europe. Speaks volumes too. I wasn't asked when I paid my taxes if it was OK to waiste it, or if it was OK to hire incompetent people, or neurologists who are dangerous at their jobs (speaking from personal experience), or to pay inflated salaries to middle and top management while regular employees where so underpaided that said management had to go and source nurses abroad, resulting in situations where nurses can't understand doctors' instructions - who was? If we were asked that, who would have ticked 'yes'?

[Pierre QUOTE]go to A&E for my girlfriend in danger of being paralysed I experience 3rd world medecine (and I am not exxagerating)[/QUOTE]

with all due respect Pierre, you are exagerating mate. When I was in Rawanda many years ago, I experienced 3rd World medecine and even Croydon NHS was better than that :}

the yanks have it right ( in some respects) twice as much pay for same (similar) job & cost of living is 20% less.
With all due respect Shrops, having worked in the US for long periods of time throughout various states your statment is also wildy exagerated. Salaries can vary signficantly from one state to another, not disimiliar to salaries throughout Europe. And I can assure you that I never earnt twice as much in Kansas (Thorn EMI) or Texas (Pepsi) as I did working for Barclays in Central London, doing the same job. The cost of living in NYC and other major cities throughout the USA can be just as expensive as any major city in the UK or Europe.

Spains health system is far better than ours,,,,,,,,, speaks volumes that does....
Agree with ya there, however let's not forget that they have benefited from some signficant handouts from the EEC over the last 5/6 years now. Wait 'till they have to start contributing what the founder member states contribute. Then we'll see.

You can pick any points in isolation and compare them with other european countries but on the whole there is no where better than the UK.

FUK my point about there being people better and worse off than was that Andy was explaining about the hours/pay/expenditure he and his family had.
We would all like to live beond our means but we all have a budget.
Moaning doesn't help anybody and petit action is futile because you just end up making it worse for somebody else.
If you think things are bad now you should cast your mind back to the 80's, 4 million unemployed, severe poverty, civil unrest, millions lost their homes and businesses.
Things are never as bad as they seem. Stop believing tabloid journalism.

Shrops. I don't think the majority of Blacks, and manual workers in the USA would agree with you.

Uncle FB thanks for the advice.

Apologies to all if I offended anybody. Not meant really. Well it was at the time.

It has been my opinion for many many years that successive UK govt.'s intention is to keep everyone in their own small cachement area..
A population that does not move about is nice and easy to control..

The twat that says we should all use public transport should try living in a rural area.. Even here, in a small town, PT is next to useless.
A bus once an hour that does not go anywhere near 80% of the town.
Without private transport of some sort people have to use taxi's which are really no better than private cars.

And before anyone says use a push bike, try taking half a dozen big boxes 1.5 miles on a push bike every day..

The govt.'s of the UK have always gone on about private enterprise and, quote 'entrepreneurial Britain' whilst all the time making it harder and harder for the small business.

What makes an ideal proletariat ?
A mindless mass of cannon fodder with no voice, no ambition, and if possible no free will.. Hey ! Its inner city Britain !! ( at least, thats where it seems to be heading ..

Time and time again at election times we hear of low turn outs, and the same old questions are asked by the media.. ( such as how to increase interest in the political scene ).
They are actually asking the wrong question..
How can MP's regain any sort of respect.
It seems to make no difference whatsoever who is in power.
They all make the prols life a fookin misery sooner or later, so the average voter cannot see much point in voting for one side or another.
I am not offering any alternatives.. I aint that clever.. but surely there are better options to the way we are presently governed .
Would it not be wonderful to have people in power who actually LISTENED to the people rather than dictate their own agenda to us ?

Whilst I will support our armies in hot spots round the world, I cannot support those who send them there.
And talking around, I know I am far from alone..
Hey, an idea.. lets disband all army's throughout the world.. If a country wants to get busy on another, the only people allowed to fight are the MP's.
Wonder how many wars would be declared then ? Or how many people would want to become MP's ? Take it a step further,, the only persons allowed to fight are the prime ministers ! Now where is Rambo when you want a new PM ! ?

I am in ramble mode... best shut up before I lose the plot completely !!

and it's my opinion that you live in coucouland, can I have a passport for there? This Country has turn to utter shit, I can say so because I live here and pay taxes here, so no, I won't shut up - greed, incompetence, stupidity is what governs us now - as for fucking off I'm gonna do very soon what half the English population wants to do: exactly that.
When so many people say it's looks like shit, smells like shit, tastes like shit, you don't tell them it's not shit - you try to understand why you believe that it's truffle.

I have a great job thanks ! Nice house, two bikes, two cars, investments etc... That's not the point. I don't think people here are moaning about their 'lot' just that their liberties are drastically diminishing. Money doesn't come into the equation as much as principal. We are supposedly all part of a European union and theoretically a developed country, however, Other countries are evolving into better communities with living conditions on the up. The same cannot be said for Britain by any stretch of the imagination.

Britain was once a great country, with industries and international standing, now we are a US puppet and even our call centres are deserting us.

Still, your logic and sensitivity is appreciated roXXo ! :k

Good guess, Malaga region as it happens. Probably will start my own business there, seem more straight forward than here. Gotta give it a go I 'spose, can always try somewhere else if it doesn't work out. c7u8

This or any other government will never lower taxes due to them giving all our money to foreigners. ?40 Billion to Europe (2002 figures), Aid to anyone who wants it, fighting anyones wars, Iraq, Afganistan, Balcans etc, supporting all immigrants coming here, paying for all Scottish, Welsh & Irish assemblies and all the civil servants that goes with it.
Anyone who votes for one of the main 3 parties at the next election must be mad. Whether you vote for the far right or the tree hugging parties, it's time for a change.
