OK, there it is. A US XX carries 6.3 US gallons. Still though, that only puts you to 195 miles at dry. I hit that regularly with more left. I went 223 last summer and just nicked on the fuel light.

Run out in less than 90 miles and also have done 205 miles with 6l left. The 205 was the most boring ride, I have ever done, where as the less than 90 was a bit mad, 2nd and 3rd gear chasing a mad bastid

Snowdon The highest mountain in Wales 3,5601ft (1,085m)

Scafell Pike The highest mountain in England 3,209ft (978m)

Ben Nevis The highest mountain in Scotland 4,408ft (1,344m)

Mt Evans is the highest paved road in the US and closed for months out of the year do to snow. It's elevation is 14,240ft or 4,342 meters..... Try that with a carbed XX...lol

Hardnott Pass in our beautiful Lake District is often closed during the winter. It's really high, really really steep and gets a good covering of snow... try that on a fixed gear peddle bike!

Is it true this is the highest point in the UK? Lake District - Scafell Pike at 978 metres or 3,208ft. That would barely qualify as a foothill in Nevada and I live in the Las Vegas valley at 2,700ft. Mt. Charleston is over 11,000ft and that's like 25 miles away. Great skiing too....

You really really like it there don't you.

Having lived in the US for a little while

I had a couple of meetings with State Troopers

Once I was caught only in my trunks on the way to a private beach ... not carrying ID or insurance details
I explained I was British and although I had a Floridian drivers license (sp) as we didnt have to carry all paperwork in the car at all times in the UK, I wrongly asssumed the same applied ...

Sarcasm from the Trooper "Margeret Thatcher is very lapse with driving laws in UK and you limeys can get away with anything! (that polical comment dates the incident well)

I replied with the comment, "That could be why we have less deaths pro rata on the road in UK than here in the USA and we all CAN manage to drive faster than 55mph on our motorways"

Out came his book and I got my first ticket !

Americans have no sense of humour !!!!!

HOWEVER .......
One American spotted Buckingham Palace ....
Thats kinda small we have much bigger palaces in USA

Later in the day he spots the London Eye
Thats kinda small ... we have much bigger ferris wheels in USA

Later he spots Hyde park
Thats kinda small ....we have much bigger parks in USA

We pass The Maudsley Hospital and I say.... see that hospital ... I guess you have the same type of hospital but IMMENSELY bigger in the USA
He still didnt understand why I was laughing when he said.....
'Of course we do!"
