Are you sure it's real ????? and not just a dummy. The pole it's mounted on is very skinny and there appears to be no way of lowering it to replace the film etc. There also appears to be no ribs to prevent pipe cutter attacts.

It has now been proven without any doubt that the flashing 'SLOW DOWN' signs are 80% more effective than GATSO's at accident prevention, yet GATSO's are still used in preference to anything else..

Why not e-mail the piccies to MCN along with a description of the location and see if they want to check it out.
I thought there was a stop put on any new camera sites by the Govt. while they await a report. It was in national press/BBC as well as MCN saying they were not approving any new sites until the report was available???

True, but as in all Government spin there are a few 'exceptions' including previously approved sites and community concern sites (generally done with tallivan and laser). Don't have the report handy (yes I am that sad) so can't bore you any further.

Not in action yet as they are waiting to have the warning sign put up and I assume the road markings. The locals all know about it (one warned me) but no doubt as it's a trunk route there will be a steady stream of passing motorists filling up Brunstrom's coffers. Depends what speed it's set at; 40 mph ok with me but 33/34/35???

Definitely something not right with the post? It's just too thin compared to the normal mount.

No, maybe not quite like that, lol!
Just to see if it really is a genuine Gatso. I.e - the post.... I presume one of the reasons why they always normally use such a sturdy mount is for it's own security, and like already said, there doesn't seem to be any way to lower this one down.
I mean, I know it looks like a Gatso - but there is just something not right about this one :dunno:
Had to grin yesterday as I saw one on the A556 which has been "warmed".
It's on the A556 in the chester direction after it passes over the M6.... just past the knustford turnoff from the A556.
From the back it looks normal but the front is toast!!
