Carbed or Injection?

Hey Guys - Sorry if this thread is in the wrong place. I couldnt decide the best place for a general question.

I am eager to buy myself a Bird which will be my main transport / commuting tool and play thing. The budget is a bit tighter than I would like and so a carbed bike would look the better option because the older it is the cheaper it would be - you would think ha!

Anyway before I commit my self I was hoping you guys may be able to give me your opinions on whether you prefere the carbed or injection Bird and why.

Thanks for your time all
Kind regards Jamie

if you want more speed, better mpg, less weight, more power, proper clocks then it has to be a carb.

on the other hand if you are old and want to load it with luggage and hit the limiter on the straight and brake hard on corners whilst wearing a gay furry back pack then the inj peeps would be your cup of tea.

If you are commuting, go for carb, the inj one I had on hire was so jumpy on the throttle I was always feathering the clutch as you never knew if the thing was going to launch you under something as you filtered between traffic.

i do 40 miles a day on my 2000 injected bike. it's not jerky at all, maybe i'm just a naturally gifted rider..bl4hbl4h:-0) mpg is ok, the faster you ride it, the more fuel it uses, mine has the 'proper' clocks. i'd say go for either, there's 7/8s of sod all of a difference.

There you have it, the definitive answer. I'd close the thread now as there is nothing anyone can add to better that.

i do, 5-7mpg more is more like it, sometimes more, yes you can get sent down for 140 errrr last couple of tests i read on a bird quoted the top speed for an inj at 165mph, the 180mph + ones were the carbs and the bird got slower and slower as the years went on.
