Went to Chester this morning to John Lewis, afterwards popped into the Asda opposite.

As we got back into the car in the (very empty) Adsa car park a Nissan Micra pulled into the next row ahead.

Parked up right next to a Mercedes that was parked nose in, the Micra was nose out. So cars parked driver's door to driver's door.

Three young ladies then climbed out, the driver climbed out via the passenger side as there was only about six inches between the two cars.

Didn't seem to occur to them that the Mercedes driver wouldn't be able to get in!!

And before anyone asks. No, none of them were big, although I couldn't study too closely as the wife would have noticed.

Returned to find car right beside mine.

I've lost count of the number of times I've had to lower the roof of my Merc because of other drivers parking too close, & hop over the door.

At Eastbourne hospital I had to get into my car via the tailgate as I was hemmed in on both sides.

I always try and park well away from other cars wherever I go and it's amazing how often you get back to find someone parked next to me rather than in the fifty parking spaces in any direction they could have used.

Local Asda has a large car park but people prefer to park on the double yellows just outside, obstructing traffic turning left & right.

I have been shopping in a 101 forward control before now, funnily enough there were no parking issues & plenty of space left all around us by all the considerate drivers :D its' the way forward imo :D

Large humpty bumpty army truck from way back, usually rover v8 powered, tall & big wheeled, not a lot stops them & normal cars tend to keep well away for fear of getting squished :D

Yep. You can't beat a 1 tonner for street presence. I remember being in one when the driver stepped out and stood on the roof of the car next door.

One afternoon, half a dozen of us cadged a lift from a corporal who was going into the local village for a haircut. We all fancied a lunchtime pint and a game of pool.
So he parked in the village pubs small carpark. As we all jumped off the back some muppet in a Merc saloon parked next us so close that it left no room for the corporal to step down. So he stepped on to the cars roof instead, shut the door and walked off the back of this car via the boot.

An old mate still has a 101, we used to take all the kids for a joy ride in it regularly & they loved it, expensive days out at 12 to the gallon but good fun all the same (y)

I will never forget the first time I was in it we trundled off to a local ford that was quite deep that day he drove straight in without a thought then promptly turned right up the river  a couple of miles later we climbed a steep bank into an abandoned quarry, this was one of Paul's infamous short cuts :D we then preceded to drag out a shogun that had got stuck earlier that day, impressive for such a big vehicle, at the time I truly thought nothing would stop that thing but have been stuck in it a few times since & had to winch out ........ the biggest problem there being finding something big & heavy enough to stay put when winched off

There's a farmer near us who uses a hard top one regularly and has done for years.

You can't miss it as it's eggshell blue.!

A fella I used to work with stepped into and walked across the back seat of a Cadillac convertible that stopped across the pelican crossing outside Charing Cross station.

Bev & I went to a supermarket, as we walked through the car park a guy in the driving seat dropped a lit cigarette out of his window, Bev picked it up & threw it on his lap saying “you just dropped this”, really funny watching him flap about trying to move the lit cig.

I find this all the time. It's most likely people hoping in some weird way that prestige is contagious.
