Each time, each time the money-grabbing rip-off assholes come with a new way to cream us (congestion charge ?5, congestion charge ?8 bigger area, reducing amount of motorcycle parking bays in the same time), each fucking time I ask myself, what next? Well now they've come with this ****ish idea of road use-charging (and I doubt petrol price will go down or congestion charge stopped), my question is... what next? What do you guys think is next? Because there will be a next, that's for sure... National congestion charge on top of per-mile charge? What do you think? Come on, be creative, the twats will be :bang:$%3un:mad:

Our local council have given us a new green wheelie bin to go with our grey one, however the green one can only contain grass cuttings/leaves and compressed cardboard. the bins are going to be emptied on alternate weeks, we have been informed that even though this is a pilot scheme, if we put anything other than the above in the green bin we will be fined, also if the bin lid will not close things will be removed from the bin and left for us to clear up and we will be fined.

We got these a while ago as a "trial" it became clear that this was nothing of the sort as once u got em u keep em.
It seems to be to be that in order to meet govt. recycling targets they have to be seen to doing something - seems a bit daft though.
Think about it - what did most folks already do with garden waste/grass cuttings : either compost them or put them in the specific container at the local waste centre.
Now the same amount of garden waste is collected by truck and so can be counted towards the recycling targets. Doesn't seem to me that any extra recycling is actually taking place?

Other problem we have is that most folks find that fortnightly removal of normal waste is not enough. Result is peeps are doing extra trip to the waste dump in between.

Afraid I'm a bit sceptical and not exaclty convinced it achieves much other than letting the local council put a "tick in the right box".

:dunno:

3 bins here - We've had green recyclable fortnightly and black weekly for a few years. This year they've given us a brown bin for garden waste and changed the black bin collection to fortnightly also. :bang: We only have garden waste about twice a year!

Great wheelie bin stories guys  but what about congestion charging.

Maybe they could subsidise it with some of the lottery cash they are grabbing.

Proposal For More Money Grabbing

OK then if we must gt off the topic of wheely bins.........

Pollution tax for road vehicles with variable rates based on age of vehicle plus pollutants produced.

Start with an official list of pollutants produced by each vehicle (with officious officials deciding what that should be).
Then stir this mix thoroughly for a year or two so peep get used to it and start to accept it as almost inevitable.
Then announce that it will be allowed to marinate before being served up in three years time.... thus most folks will probably feel it's not worth the effort just now to fight it.
Having reduced the general population to a malleable bunch of "dohs!" then ensure that it keeps increasing by a sugared coating of rules like a banding system where cars only qualify for the lowest rate in the first three years of their life. After that the pollution tax rate goes up by say 20% per year.

Support for this would come from the industry who are currently struggling as it wud encourage more vehicle turnover.

Having concocted the recipe for this it would be packaged up as "new improved whiter than white, cleaner than clean, leaner and meaner, good for the digestive tract, safe with kids, friendly to lost bunnies, fluffier than fluffy and the future salvation of the world".

Figures could be bandied arround to prove that introduction of such a scheme would reduce the worlds pollution levels by 0.0002%. it would be helpful not to point out that the developing countries increasing pollution would negate this and add annother 20% to world pollution levels.

Disclaimer: this recipe is not warranted or tested and any reference to facts true or false is entirely concidental (allegedly).

Farting tax, the smellier the fart the more you pay

Hair tax, the more hair you have the more you pay (I'm exempt)

Children tax, this is a good one it might deter people from having kids

But on the other hand how about a 'Silver wedding rebate' when you have reached 25 years married to the same person, you become exempt from all taxes, due to insanity.

Re. pollution tax, the cnuts don't give a monkey about pollution or they would fund research to develop further such actual projects as the Pantone engine (below a copy/paste of part of a post I wrote in another thread re. Pantone engine subject)
The assholes have already stated they don't plan to discount road-use tax for hybride or other 'fuel-efficient' vehicles becaues it would be "too complicated" - they do not plan to exempt motorbikes although this tax is supposedly created to avoid gridlock... MOTHERFUCKERS.
Next road-related tax in UK, something that is in my country: motorway tolls... who wanna bet?
Bob, you, think? Watch out, don't hurt yourself mate!
And BIF, I gave my bird more than a rub today - rode her for 4 hours... Oh, and my bike is so nice to ride, too - great after 6 months (will post about amazing Pete's job tomorrow, but too knackered now so gonna sign off now)

Talking about biofuel, anyone heard of the GEET Pantone engine mod? No? You think you can't run an engine partially on water? Well think again - here are few links - those worrying about environment have something to do now (and it works, for all the scepticals) - so next, duty on water, just like on vegetable oil when used for running an engine... whatever next...

and do a bit of research yourself, here's a google link

You would become liable for the powered vehicle pollution tax.
You would be fined for failiing to use an officially sanctioned wheelie bin.
You would be charged an additional council tax levy for the hell of it.
Your powered wheelie bin would be given a parking ticket and clamped for incorrect parking.

I suggest that having powered your wheelie bin you enter the Artic leg of the Trans Sahara world rally - I beleive that cyclops may be able to suggest a navigator.

It's all TAX whatever they call it.

Well, if and it's a bloody BIG IF we all said NO, we are not paying any tax on anything, go and take the piss somewhere else Mr PM, could they lock us all up? No, of course they couldn't but will the majority stand up and be counted? Bollocks, no fuckin' chance. All we do is bleat about it.So, until we all get together and say enough is more than enough we will just have to take it.

I made this stance a few years back when they introduced the poll tax, the bastards took it in one go from my wage.

There's women due in court any day now for refsing to pay income tax since her husband was killed (think he was the first soldier to die) in the Iarq war. She's cited TB as a witness as aparently he gave her a personal assurance that he would provide her with the evidence of WMD.

Says she'll pay her tax once he keeps his side of the agreement.
