Anything about my Bird version please. I'm thinking of selling it as it doesn't get ridden much amongst the others in the garage. I've not seen this combination of colours with the gold inlays. As far as I know it was originally a competition prize in NI.

All I can really point out as you may already know that there are obvious non standard parts on your Bird, things so has the gold inserts are add on, so could have been done to bling it up, but would imagine if it was a dealer competition it would have been standard bike, one of the experts (anoraks) will be along to help soon@tu*

OK, thanks. It has Ohlins, full Akra system and a power commander as well but it's things like the gold I've not seen around. I think the winner didn't take the bike but immediately swapped it towards a caravan:)

Certainly is pretty looking thing.. If your serious about selling it, get your self 10 posts and put it in the rehoming section ( I would advice you read the rules at the top of the section before doing so though @tu* )

I guess it MIGHT have been something built by a Honda dealer but it does seem unlikely

However, several years ago a couple of the mags did big competitions with custom Birds as a prize.. Methinks if anything it would have been one of those.

Did it come as it's shown or with the original parts too ?

Maybe. I'm almost certainly going to sell it as it doesn't get used. It's not QUITE as good as it looks though - its a Cat D after someone knocked it over in a car park. Superficial damage only but enough to make it uneconomic so they said. It will probably appear in the other section shortly:)

Came to me as is. There are VFR800 bars fitted and I have the originals plus some others bits and pieces + brand new Ventura system. The wheels have been polished and I've got a spare pair, maybe the originals as they are grey, with discs

Oh and it's got a power commander too.

Its a 2003 if that helps identify it:) I'd be really grateful if anyone could suggest a reasonable price for this too.

That would be very difficult to be honest.. As it is far from standard the value would be in the eye of the beholder so to speak !

Cat D would frighten off a lot of the uninformed. I asked if you had the original parts as stuff like the ohlins, akra and pc comm would do well on the bay selling separately.

The other option maybe to have a swap and stop day? Perhaps if someone wants what you have, they have standard, you get together but still some money going in your direction and you swap the bits over. Prices for those parts vary so search on here and completed sales on eBay to see what they have gone for.

I only suggest this as complete bikes with all the goodies you have, for some reason tend to not go much higher than a standard bike.

Then as a standard-ish cat d bike you have to distinguish between what you want for it and what the market is.

If course the easiest way is to have a price in mind and throw it out there and see if anyone bites then adjust if they do not ?

I guess that's the only way. TBH I can't be arsed putting it back to standard and I would hope someone would get some pleasure out of it as it is. I know the Cat D thing is a pisser but as it's already payed out for me then I'm not going to be asking too much... I hope. Probably around ?2.75k to ?2.5k

This Bird above was a CAT D and I have had a few others that were also recorded.
What I found was that it is easier to sell (and get a decent price) a recorded bike if it has a few tasty extras on it, it takes the thought and pain away of buying a CAT C/D bike and adds a bit of value.

I still can't believe how good the Capo is when compared to a 1200GS or a KTM Adventure, It must be one of the most underated bikes around.

I only rode the thing once and then it tried to chuck me off at the first roundabout, I was doing the fandango, legs all over the place with an image in my head of 2 months work and orange and silver plastic all over the road.............I can imagine car drivers coming the other way saying WOW! look at that guy doing stunts!!

I took the Crapo in part ex for the Benelli and I really am blown away by what a crackin bike it is, Ugly? and a GS isn't? h1d1ng2
