Anyone know of any good campsites in the Kilkenny area, Southern Ireland?

Thanks for the replies fellas.

I'll look into those, I'd already had a recommendation for the Tree Grove site from elsewhere, but I'll check the others out too. I'm not off until June.

The Reply from Kilkenny Cats ! !

1. Tree Grove Caravan and Camping Park is the closest and within walking distance of the city, or one apparently can rent out bikes, it is 1.5km from city centre phone no 353 567770302.

2. Nore Valley Park, this is also the open Farm and is really beautiful with lots to do in a very scenic location, however it is 3.2km from Kilkenny, near Benettsbridge. phone 353 57727229.

There may be unofficial parks in the Inistioge and Graiguenamanagh areas, however they are not listed, hope the above is of some help!

I've just been in contact with Nore Valley. Thank you very much, their reputation seems better than Tree Grove in a quieter location. The extra 1.5 Km from Kilk isn't a problem - I'm on a bike afterall. They're also offering a group discount and 7 nights for the price of 6. Seems like a bargain.

Try http://www.magireland.org/contact/ as well just in case they have
any other ideas.

Why Kilkenny? you doing a big tour.
I'm in Limerick if you need anything else or if
you are passing through.

Using Kilkenny as a base to tour the area for a week with a bunch of mates from our RoSPA group. Some are staying at the Aspect Hotel (formerly Days Inn) the rest of us are roughing it in tents.

You're asking "MAG man" if he's contacted MAG Ireland? Er, no. Thought about it, couldn't see a group listed for the area. just haven't contacted their office as yet. It's on the to do list though.
