BRNO - session results - Capirossi fastest

Valentino Rossi has put an end to Loris Capirossi?s early domination at Brno by posting the best time of the day on his last run in the second free practice session: Rossi moved up from eighth to first, beating Capirossi?s fastest lap in the closing stages of the session.
Capirossi had dominated the first session and was quick again in the second free practice as he moved ahead of Marco Melandri as the faster rider with less than 15 minutes to go. While the Ducati Marlboro consistently lapped in 1?59, Rossi ? who escaped injury in a crash in the first session - only broke the 2? barrier on his last two attempts but eventually managed to beat his compatriot by 0.088s.
Sete Gibernau moved up to third ahead of his Movistar Honda team-mate Marco Melandri, while Kenny Roberts was fifth fastest aboard the Suzuki. Carlos Checa was sixth fastest on the second factory Desmosedici., while American riders Nicky Hayden and Colin Edwards were seventh and eighth respectively.

Ducati Marlboro?s Loris Capirossi was the fastest in the first free practice session this morning at Brno. The Italian rider topped the timesheets with a best lap set in 1?59.626, ahead of Sete Gibernau and Colin Edwards.
Nicky Hayden was fourth fastest ahead of Valentino Rossi, who suffered an early tumble when he avoided a collision with Camel Honda?s Troy Bayliss. The Italian was able to remount quickly to finish fifth ahead of Marco Melandri.
Alex Barros was seventh fastest while Max Biaggi, John Hopkins and Alex Hofmann completed the top 10.
Apart from Nobuatsu Aoki, third rider of the Suzuki team, another rider is back on the MotoGP scene for this weekend?s race: Jeremy McWilliams is riding for Team Roberts, replacing Shane Byrne after KTM ceased its partnership with the outfit.
