Went through the same experience myself a fortnight ago. Only for me it was after a 3 year layoff. I was given all the usual advice about taking it easy but to be honest it's impossible to be sensible with your nutz wrapped round 160 bhp. While it's true it only goes as fast as you want it to, the bitch makes you want to go like buggery
