If you insure your bike through Swinton it costs SFA for continental breakdown for 3 months then ?6.99 per month on a monthly basis.

ADAC!

ADAC.... I'm covered European and UK(obviously!) The website is in German but ring em and they speak excellent English. I spoke to Petra...lovely woman, she even excused her English,(sounded sexy as hell...probably a right munta tho'! But I'm still going with dirty sexy blonde thing!) which was excellent! I am covered anywhere in Europe and if you go on various forums and read about people who have shitty cars and the level of service they have had when they have inevietably broken down. Adac it seems have gone beyond the call of duty!
What is the cost? I paid over the phone with my credit card the princely sum of ?68.00. The shower of shit who are, "THE (capital letters of Alcoholics Anonymous)",the 1st emergency rip off, whom I cancelled last year wanted ?130.00 for UK only with home start, which included a ?28 admin charge:wank:!
With ADAC, I get everything the AA promised plus EUROPEAN COVER. Absolute no brainer!!!!!!!! @tu*
Oh, by the way, it's a no brainer cos' I also get ANY vehicle I own or travel in covered, plus the missus is independently covered too!!!
I AM LIKE A PIG IN SHIT when it come to travelling in my vehicles here or abroad!
Do it!

Regards

Rave.

whatever insurance you opt for, make sure it's bike specific, repatriation, and medical costs, etc, there was a thread on here, not so long ago pointing out some of the exclusions insurance company's "hid/didn't publicise", Biking was amongst them!! :dunno:

Just got my C.Nash renewal letter, ?152 for the Bird and my old CB900. Includes UK and European breakdown assistance and up to 100k legal protection(whatever that is).
They'll be getting my business again.
@tu*
Regards ADAC versus AA, you need to know how to play the AA, it's not hard.

:dunno: is that their estimate?? cos it'll be bollox!! as it's "worth" the same average price as any other "rescue" company!!:dunno:

No it's not their estimate. It's what the same cover would cost if getting from The AA..... according to their web page,- roadside, homestart, relay, onward travel.

Called the AA this morning as I aleady have their cover through my Lloyds bank account.
They wanted ?198 for their 5* all bells and whistles cover for ONE WEEK in June on a bike.
Told the guy that was way too high. He then talked to his supervisor and came back with ?98.38 for the week. Still too much, but might be worth it since I don't actually pay for my cover anyway as such,,,
Going to check with my bikesafe insurance team and see what they have to offer.
Trouble with the AA is their service is usually 5* in my experience,,, so,,,

But still ?100 for a week???? Ouch

ADAC is only 79.50 euros for there plus scheme for the year.

Vehicle Rescue Direct is £32 for a two week cover.

I always use these folk @tu*

But as with any insurance....you only find out how good they are when you need them :bang:

Just got cover for a week in Europe from these guys for ?24.75. As you say i'll only find out how good they are if the shite hits the fan,,, but hopefully we won't need it anyway.
Thanks for the post, much appreciated @tu*@tu*@tu*
