Never actually been to Bournmouth but I'm led to believe it's full of old people, some of them actually play for their football team

Ignore the coal miner, what would you like to know.

(Derek, I've been to Barnsley so you've got more to lose.)

Dereks right though, it is full of old people. From Weymouth in the west to Eastbourne in the .... east, the average age is 97.771.

It is as if once you get to a certain age you jump off a cliff at any point in the UK and you fall all the way down to the bottom and thats where you stay, except the rich ones end up in Poole.

great place for the young too!! good club scene I gather, lots of foreign students.

daughter and her friends think its brilliant!!! yes there are lots of older people too but the shops are good, beautiful surrounding countryside, and any way the old folk are all tucked up with their cocoa by 8 pm (or if they are rich enough to buy at Sandbanks their mistress)

dont let them put you off, its quite tricky realising where poole starts and bournemouth stops.

Loads of young people, loads of clubs, loads of lovely shops you will have the time of your life

Aidey, I must admit that I know as much about Bath as you do of Bournemouth, which is not much. That's because Bath is such a bunged up place that I always avoid it via Bradford on Avon when I head in that direction. I do go and watch the rugby now and again and the the place does have a charm. But Aidey, I have to say that Bath seems a bit on the decrepit side when I walk around it.

Agree with americanexpress, there's a lot of nightlife and students in Bournemouth. My kids have never complained. They keep coming back.

We're not all rich in Poole, that's Sandbanks. The wealth drops away quite quickly as you move away from Sandbanks.

Bikerbaby,

Poole Quay is good on Tuesdays without a bike. Often go there without the bike 'cause there's no ride in for me. Plenty of places to eat and drink by the Quay.

Speedway and Greyhound Racing in the centre of Poole.

Tower Parks is the place for restaurants (Tex Mex, all you can eat Chinese, etc.), cinema, bowling, etc.

There's a good beach and you could take a boat ride out to Brownsea island. Also plenty of water sports if you're interested.

Take the ferry over to Studland and Purbeck. More beaches.

Poole Park is quite nice in the centre of town.

Was told when I was younger that girls out-number guys by 4-1 in Poole....Went down there but found it was not really true more like 2-1.....eventually ended up in Boscombe where again....more old people!!!....But I have to say the nightlife was excellent down there, particularly the main square in Bournemouth at New Years Eve:yo:

TaxiRED?

I am so special.

I'm confused. Are these the low lights or the highlights? :dunno:

I live just outside Poole so about 5 miles. There's also a few other guys from Dorset on here. Southampton and Portsmouth are just up the coast and some of the more 'revered' members :p live that way I believe.

Maybe we'll see you at bike night?
