If you were born again, and had the option to pick your own christian/atheist name what would you pick and why? Would your new name stand the test of time?

Have you been christened, and if so do you go to church at all?
Have you not been christened and go to church?

I can think of christian names that I would have liked when I was younger, but would'nt like them now.

Why are you using the phrase 'christian name' and asking about christenings?

Some might find that a bit offensive bearing in mind the decidedly dodgy content of a number of other posts on this forum.

already got mine changed way too often ..........

I'm not christened as I'm not a christian ........ I'm now on my 3rd surname since birth ...... or 4th if you count my change back to my 2nd surname ........

but I do formally (when publishing & the company name) go by the nom de plume 'Hector Ripley' ......... I always wanted to be a Hector and Patricia Shearsmith's character Mr Tom Ripley is a great anti hero ......

Hector is much nicer than me ......... much more serene :-0)

If I had to take a religion, I like the Jewish faith, good weekend work ethic (Shoma Shabbos), good business sense and a no nonsense approach to starting a war ........ my kind of people, I wouldn't be so heavy on the bling though.

My point exactly, most forms used to ask for a christian name, they now ask for first name. I was wondering if anyone would pick up on it.

I never noticed when this change took place? It would have affected your banking forms....

All Saudi's have two first names.

The fact that I only have one often caused problems when I lived there. Family always call me Billy, most peeps call me Bill and the wife calls me William......when she's speaking to me!d04l1ng

Oh no - we are thinking alike.

Please keep me away from sharp objects until I get over it.:-0)

I have to say that I have been saddened recently by some of the comments made in this forum on the subject of 'race'. A lot of angry people out there.

Some may be race related... a good few are related to the way this and previous governments of this country are no longer thinking of whats best for the English, British, Welsh, Scottish and N Irish (or WE) . WE have bent over backwards to allow non nationals enter and turn our country into potentially a religious time bomb. The worst part being WE are now being dictated to by the non nationals. The country WE live in is not big enough for the population it has to support, let alone the amount of non nationals WE now have to support. There is a very thin line between naming non nationals problems a race related problem.

So how do you 'place', say, a 3rd generation (to the UK) Asian?
