They seemed to overlook the cheering and applause.

Anyone might think it was clickbait.

Don't underestimate him, after that VAT will go up on Monday and the end of voting :)

Why does he have a handle on the back of his coat......

Just been watching an old documentary about West Ham's new ground and the financial deal behind it

Boris heavily involved with obscured and hidden deals

No change there then ...

But ........ It wasn't just Boris!

It seems Seb Coe needs to step up and take a bow....

Apparently the best option for all (including the taxpayer) was the alternative offer to knock it down and rebuild as a dedicated football stadium.

However Seb Coe mounted a vehement campaign not to allow that to happen which left the current situation.

That's why it currently cost £3m each time the configuration has to be changed - paid for by the taxpayer.

Athletics UK actually doesn't want to be based there anyway, wishes to move to Birmingham as a more central location.

That will likely result in West Ham finally buying the ground outright

He'll stay, but after this his authority will just keep ebbing away until someone comes out of the woodwork that the party consider a credible replacement.

I have no doubt he will survive.

The problem is rapidly becoming that being PM is a job nobody wants as the media will knock down whoever is in situ.

In some ways similar to the Comissioner of the Metroplitan Police..the Mayor threw Cressida Dick under the bus leading to her resignation (can’t say I blame her) and unsurprisingly it seems he is having difficulty finding a replacement.

Yes, the media will have a pop at whoever is in power, but they are doing so, quite rightly, because he broke the law and lied.

I think that is the crux of the matter - nobody is arguing (including Boris) that he broke the law, it will never been known if he lied in Parliament or said what he believed to be true at the time……. unless your name is Boris Johnson.

Given his very public record on truthfulness and accuracy he's either a habitual casual teller of untruths or of so little intelligence that he genuinely can't recall what he last said and/or doesn't understand the meaning of the things he says.

I can understand someone in authority taking the knocks somewhat unfairly at times, but he goes way, way, way beyond that.

As for the current vote, it makes political sense for it to be now. I'd be amazed if the turkeys would vote for Christmas and it gives him a year before they can have another vote

Meantime he can identify those against him and take action to remove them. He's shown himself ruthless in dealing with opponents and fawning in rewarding those who back him regardless of their ability.

Makes me livid.. Who is governing the UK nowadays.. I will say its the total arseholes of the media

Me, I do not give a sloppy fuck about partygate and no one else I personally know cares either
I do care that he or more accurately his minions have got stuff done
Yep, he really cannot work out the difference between a lie and the truth, cannot, himself, organise a piss up in a brewery and there probable are several million people who would make a better PM, but he is about the best of the god awful lot we have
As for running the govt., I suspect cat herders have a FAR easier job

The underlying issue to me is that ‘Downing Street and Whitehall’ appear to be about twenty years at least behind the rest of the ‘business world’ where embedded drinking cultures were canned years ago. I know only too well what being in that culture is like and looking back it was a total disgrace., albeit good fun at the time.

The world has moved on, the bureaucrats in and around government need to do the same.

Over 40 years ago I was a civil servant and even then a drinking culture was absolutely verboten.
